| An Audience of One |

1 Kings 10:24, ?The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.? Proverbs 29:26, ?Many seek an audience with a ruler but it is from the Lord that man gets justice.? Last Sunday, Margaret praised the Sunday evening band for not getting discouraged by the small audience in front of them. She reminded them that they were playing for an audience of One. It got me thinking. Aren?t we all suppose to be performing for an audience of One. Isn?t God both our Judge and our Jury. At first thought, you might think that this would put tremendous pressure on us, however in reality there is a lot freedom in this thought. We serve a mighty God that loves us unconditionally. Pressure that we feel in life usually comes from trying to meet some kind of standard or trying to meet someone else?s expectations. The only standard we should be striving for is Jesus? standard that He has set for us. This is a high mark but the audience we are performing for is both gracious and merciful and His love for us is limitless. Hallelujah!!!! How free it is to know that we can fail in life, pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and still be loved by the Almighty God, Creator and Ruler of the Universe.
Teach one to lead one. I do it all for the glory of Christ,
