Greetings,
I'm working on a sermon I'm preaching next Sunday night (11/18/07), and God is really challenging me. I've preached many times, and I can always know how effective the sermon will be by how much Satan tries to sideline my time to work on the message. Let me tell you, Satan has been trying to sideline my free time to work of the message. The message is titled "The Pathway to Spiritual Fulfillment" and is taken from Colossians 1:9-10. 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
There are 5 distinct steps to finding spiritual fulness, I'm not going to reveal them here. The most important thing to keep in mind in these 5 steps is that knowing what we should do is not enough. I've talked with many people who say that they know what God wants them to do, then just sit in church doing nothing to fulfill the great commission of Matthew 19:20. I know, you may be thinking that their ministry is prayer, and you may be correct. Knowing what God wants you to do is not enough- it is putting it into practice that counts. That is how we live a life wrothy of God.
My friends, and on-line church family, pray for me. Pray that God will speak through me to the people that will be in attendence that night. Pray that God will put a hedge of protection around me so that I can adequatley study His Word, and rightly divide the Word as I prepare to preach it. If by any means, come and be part of the audience that night, I'd love to mee tyou all.
