| What Are Some of the Things You Would Like to Do Before You See Jesus Face to Face? |
|
| |
This is a post where we can make up a list of the things we would like to accomplish or do before we go to be with the Lord. I have quite a list, since I wasted the first half of my life partying. The Lord got a hold of me 16 years ago and many of these things have remained on my "To do before I die" list. I would also hope that this post will give each of us some incentive to begin to accomplish our dreams. If you have already begun preparing to do some of the things on your list, let us know what steps you are taking to see your dream come to fruition. I hope we all want to be ready for Jesus to say, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and to accomplish His will for our lives. But what are some of your specific dreams? I will begin by listing a few things, and then you can come along and add yours. Okay? Great! Let's begin....
(These are not in any particular order, just listed as they came to mind.)
1.) Go to Israel and visit the empty tomb. I have wanted to do this since I got saved. I think that would be incredible!
2.) Finish college. Because I chose to party instead of going to college, I got a late start and never finished. So I have all of those obsolete computer credits just sitting there! Now the classes are all different! There wasn't even Internet back then. I do need to get back :) When my kids are more independent with home school, I plan to do this.
3.) Become a Crown Financial Coach. I have wanted to do this for years. Well I went to the seminar and bought the course work! So I am actually fulfilling this goal as we speak!
4.) Become fluent in Spanish. I have bought everything I need over the years to accomplish this goal. I seem to work on this in spurts.
5.) To be leading worship in a church on a regular basis. I have been taking voice, guitar and piano for years. I have opportunities here and there, enough to keep me motivated, but I would like to do this regularly. And I believe that the Lord has put this dream in my heart.
6.) To sing the National Anthem at a major league baseball game. I have wanted to do this since I was a small child!
7.) To be able to turn in my mop and have a job that I actually enjoy doing :), by the time I am 50. We are working on building up retirement and becoming financially free enough to do this.
8.) To be able to volunteer (and not need the money), to be able to help out at a crisis pregnancy center. Yes, I want to be one of those little old ladies who councils teens to keep their kids! Now how many people have that at the end of their list?
Now let's hear what you have to say! Don't be shy; we are all family here :) |

1. finish my bachelors and go on to a masters & doctorate 2. travel the world preaching the gospel & see the captives set free ( I have had this in my heart since 1989!) 3. write the two books I have on my heart 4. speak fluet Italian and Spanish
I would like to do these things because I believe they are in my heart to accomplish. Yet there is a part of me singing out "Come quickly, Lord Jesus". Heaven holds so many people that I want to be with. A friend of mine says, "If we really knew what heaven was like we'd all be throwing ourselves in front of buses". In other words, we'd be doing whatever we could to get there. I believe not knowing is what keeps those things in our hearts desirable to us. Otherwise how many of us would really choose to stay here? Things here can be so very difficult. There have been times in my life where I was praying, "Rapture now, Lord, rapture now"! Anyway, the point of all the rambling is that while I have these things burning in my heart that I want to do on earth, I would not trade them for what awaits me on the other side. |
|
|
1. See my grandchildren born and grow up. 2. Join CJ on a trip to Antarctica ...and I list a few other things on my birthday blog...
Still, Coreena's last sentence says it all... |

To be all that God wants me to be To use the wisdom He gives me to win others to Him. I especially want to see my lost loved ones saved. To always be there for my family To sing for Him, that is my desire, as you said Sue I wasted a lot of years as well singing for the world, and doing the partying, now what I do I do for Him |
|
|
1. Be a bright light for Christ. 2. To see my Grandparent's come to Christ. 3. To see my friend become a stronger Christian. 4. To grow up and have a husband and children.
I'm sure there are many more, but that's all that came to mind right now. |
|
|
1. Get my kids properly launched. 2. Write a Bible study...I'm working on that! 3. Play the guitar...working on that, too! 4. Visit Italy. 5. To use any gifts and talents God gave me to honor Him in whatever way He ordains until I draw my last breath. |

These lists are great! Thank you all so much for posting. You all have some wonderful goals!
Sooz: It sounds like you've been busy tackling your list! I love it!
I did think of a few more:
9.) Move to Florida (but this won't happen, since I am married to an Eskimo :)
10.) Write a song (so far, I have lots of inspirational thoughts with no complete verses, let alone a complete song :) |
|
|
| I can't think of anything I'd rather do than see Jesus face to face! |

| The reason I started this post out with practical goals, is because I knew once we started listing our spiritual goals, we would never get to the practical ones :) And I think most of our spiritual goals are the same. |
|
|
| Sue, I honestly don't have those kinds of goals. I guess I am unmotivated! Actually the purpose of my post was simply to remark how impressed I am with your goals. Wow, you do dream, sister!! That is wonderful! I pray God honors all of yours, unless he comes up with something even more mindblowing than anything you could ever think of! :-) |

There is so much I'll like to do, but the list is more self centered that I would like it to be, so I prefer to say...
I want to do everything God wants me to do, and if I have some free time, then I'll do all those self centered thing I really want to do ;-) |
