Come and fill our homes with Your preswence, You alone are worthy of our reverence. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Lord we vow to live holy, Bowing our knees to You only, Staying together, praying together, Any storm we can weather TRusting in God's Word. We need each other, Fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, in harmony and love.
~Morris Chapman I thought this song was really neat because it does not only reflect our home family but I believe that we must stand together as a church family as well. Many churches are dissipating and I truly believe it is because we are not coming together Father and mothers, sisters and brothers In harmony and love, like this son says!! I want to encourage you as a family and a church family to come together, pray together, seek God together. This is a battle that is fought together! Let's see what the devotional says remeber it is Songs 4 Worship "Change My Heart Oh God"
Try this experiment: Go outside and pick up a twig. Grsping each end, bend the twig. It bends easily, doesn't it? It may even break. Now, pick up four or five twigs. Holding them together in a bunch, try to bend them. Not as easy, is it? The same principle holds true for families. When all in a family are united in harmony -- staying together, praying together -- the stomrs of life may shake us, but they won't break us. How much more powerful, then, the family who stands together in the Lord! In Matthew 18:20, Jesus prmised, "Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." When we invite Jesus to fill our home with His presence, we will be blessed to find harmony and love which could never exist wihtout Him. We need one another in every way --praying before meals, doing devotions daily, attending church services as a family, working in the yard, and watching TV together. The family that is unified, that vows to live according to God's Word, will weather the storms of life and be stronger for the journey.
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! Psalm 113:1
I like the way the devotional ends when is says "The family that is unified, that vows to live according to God;s Word, will weather the storms of life and be stronger for the journey. Family we are going through a storm in our church and in our personal lives as well!! I pray that we would stand firm in God's word and truly seek each other. You know a lot of people that are in the world will say to me that they don't go to church because there are a bunch of hypocrites, my answer to them is "well do you go to a hospital looking to find healthy people or sick people? Family we as a body need each other, we all have issues and problems, but I believe that church is not a building to seek God individually but collectively!! I need you and you need me too (wheather you like it or NOT!!) Let's stand together and weather this storm because THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!
Love you
