Day 7 Category: Religion and Philosophy Day 7... So I know day 7 was yesterday, but I am still catching up. The reading for day 7 was Exodus 29:1-40:38. In chapter 29 verse 46 God says, in the context of instructions for consecrating the priests, that "They will know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell with them. I am the Lord their God." Thats amazing and speaks very clearly for itself. Most of the last 10 chapters of Exodus deal with the Law and instructions for tabernacle, etc., again. It becomes clear what Paul meant when he said that the Law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. Over and over God tells Israel the same things. You would think that they would eventually get it, but like a parent instructing a child, God tells them again and again, disciplines them when they sin against Him, and restores them again. Random thought...Could the things that happened in verses 25-29 of chapter 32 be a fulfillment of what Jacob said about his son Levi when he blesses/curses his sons in Genesis 49? Let me know what you think . How many of you think that Exodus 34:15-28 is the real Ten Commandments? I counted them and I am pretty sure there are ten...but I'm stupid sometimes. The last few chapters are a great plug for study bibles.
