| | Day 10 Current mood: contemplative Category: Religion and Philosophy Day 10 was Levticus 26:14-Numbers 8:4 This was probably the hardest reading yet for me. Sometimes I wonder why God put these things in scripture, and then I remember that He wants me to have patience. I know thats probably not the real reason, but thats what I needed to get through it, that and grim determination . This is a passage of scripture that will test your commitment and obedience. It is a great character building exercise. I did find it interesting that the men had to be at least twenty years old to serve in the army. I also found it interesting that 3 out of the 5 groups mentioned in Numbers chapter 2 are led by the children of Leah. Coincidence? I think not. I wonder if the Levites ever got full of themselves because they were the ones set apart to God, or if they stayed humble, or were even frightened by God's choice. What do you think? Pray that I will be dilligent to finish what I have started and that I won't grow bored with the word of God . Thanks in advance. |
