 How do I start sharing my faith (4)?
This week we have talked about some practical ways you can begin to start sharing your faith. Again I have found over the years, it's the Christians that are revived and passionately in love with Jesus that seem to be the best soulwinners. So far this week we have given you three tips.
1. Use a bible tract to break the ice- go and read Monday's blog
2. Build rapport by asking questions - Tuesday's blog
3. Ask 2 Diagnostic Questions- yesterday's blog
Use Spiritual Gifts 2:4 And my speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
Today, I want to open a can of worms that has been controversial in the body of Christ. It's called POWER! You can see in the Bible that some encounters with the lost began with demonstrations of power. Today I am only going to wet your whistle and challenge you to walk in a greater dimension of “as it is in heaven on the earth”. Are you ready? Haven't you desired to walk in the Bible kind of power? Let's start with a few testimonies.
Earlier this year, I teamed up with Transforming Life Ministries in Plant City, FL with 9 days of revival under my 200 seat tent that was given to me by a large ministry in Tampa. We saw people saved and lit on fire for Jesus as many people had to be dragged out of the service including me, overcome and undone in the tangible presence of God. (I love His Manifested Presence!-John 14:21) As we ministered prayer in the altar, a woman who had rheumatoid arthritis for at least 4 years came forward. After I laid my hands on her, she was instantly healed and could bend and jump and do things she couldn't do before. Months later I saw her and she said she was still healed with no more pain. Praise you Lord! I have seen ears, teeth, back, skin, and much more healed by the power of Jesus just through little old(I’m not old, just a little gray haired) me.
You can see in Acts 3 that Peter and John walked up to a lost beggar and they didn’t begin their encounter with a verbal gospel message but started with healing this life long cripple. Read it for yourself. Notice that Peter did not pray to God to heal him, but Peter commanded healing by saying, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, be healed.” In Mark 16:15-20, Jesus tells us that these signs will follow those who believe; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. In 1 Corinthians 12, a couple of the gifts to the church are the gifts of healing and the working of miracles. Many have said that those have passed away and for them, they have! Not for me and they don't have to be something in the past for you either!!
Lastly, you remember Jesus in John 4 revealed a women's hidden sin with her multiple marriages and fornicating, adulteress relationships and through the prophetic, she and her whole city came to believe in the Messiah. You can also see in John 1:21, Jesus sees something somewhat insignificant but meaningful to Nathaniel revealing that He saw him under the fig tree and that prophetic encounter opened Nathanael's heart to believe. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever and He is still Jehovah Rapha the Lord who heals and the Lord that knows the thoughts and intents of everyone's heart. These divine downloads can be revealed to you by the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:10-14)
How do you begin to walk in more power?
1. You first receive power after the Holy Spirit comes on upon you(Acts 1:8). This is a second gift after salvation as you can clearly see in Acts 8:14-17 after the Samaritans believed and were baptized(saved), they sent Peter and John to them to lay hands on them and the Holy Spirit now was not just in them as He is for all who are saved(Romans 8:9), but now He came upon them.
2. Get hungry and desire spiritual gifts especially prophecy. (1 Cor 12:31, 1 Cor 14:1)
3. Get around people who are moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit-(1 Cor 12:7-10) The disciples hung out with Jesus. Elisha hung out with Elijah and Timothy was influenced by being around Paul.
4. Finally, just ask your Father who gives good gifts(you can't earn them) to His children(Matt 7:11).
Today's tip: be used in the power of God to start encounters with the lost and instead of just telling them, show them that Jesus is alive! (I Corinthians 2:4). Healing, miracles and prophetic power were always used and needed along with the good news to win the lost. In Luke 9:2 He sends the disciples out and tells them to heal the sick and preach. In Luke10:9 He tells the 72 to heal the sick and preach the gospel, and in Mark 16:15-20 He tells all those who believe to heal the sick and preach the gospel. You can do it because the Lord will still work with you, confirming His word with signs following!(Mark 16:20) Power can get the attention of the sinner’s heart to hear and understand the gospel allowing them to repent and believe.(Acts 8:6, Matt 11:21)

The gifts of the Spirit are not just a good idea thay are an absolutely mandatory part of our lives. Jesus said (coomanded), "heal the sick!" |
