Are you a beggar in the King's palace?

Are you a beggar in the King's palace? "Son of man, eat that thou findest, eat this roll…Cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowls with this roll that I give thee….." (Eze.3:1-3).
A king has brought a beggar to his palace and made him a prince. The king has clothed him with the princely apparel, and has set before him delicious food. But the beggar looks at the food and smells it. But he goes away hungry. What will you think of this beggar? You will certainly scorn him or call him a fool. This is what happens today.
God has made us princes in the kingdom of Christ. We have been clothed with the righteousness of Christ. God has given us His precious Word for our spiritual food. These days, we have the great privilege of receiving many messages of God from His many servants in our Inboxes or of reading the same on many Christian web-sites. But we do not read them prayerfully and diligently. We just "browse" through these precious messages and then delete the same from our Inboxes. After some time, we tend to completely forget what we have read in those messages. We allow the wicked one to take away from our hearts what is sown therein.
We are supposed to meditate on these messages and appropriate the words of prophecy for our life or for our ministry. But we simply delete these messages. At times, we send replies to the senders of these messages thanking them for such messages. But, at the same time, we do not "eat" these messages. This is like looking at the delicious food and smelling it without eating the same. Hardly we meditate on such messages with the result that we are still babes without spiritual growth and thus spiritually weak. |

I think we are all guilty of this at times. In an age where we have information being thrown at us from every direction, we have to sift through it all quickly, so a lot of it gets thrown out. I still spend plenty of time reading the word, and communing with God, so I don't feel that the stuff that doesn't get through to me is being discarded. The things I do read stick with me, or at least I try to make it that way. Of course, some things stand out, others are forgettable.

Sister Deb, I thank God for you. At times, the devil deceives us so that we may discard the Lord's precious messages but spend more time on unimportant messages that do not edify our faith. If there are messages concerning prayer, revival, etc, the devil would try his best to take away from our hearts the seeds sown in our hearts. We have to be very careful.

Yes, I would agree that this is true. We have to be very careful of the things that we take to heart. If something does not edify our faith, we should not be reading it.

Spending time with God - in His word and in His presence - is the best food I get! I LOVE IT!! When I sit down and open up my Bible, or get in that quiet place and commune with Him, I feel like I have been set before a banquet table with every possible good food placed before me. What a feast my loving Father gives His daughter! Good word, brother!

Jen, Deb and Giving Myall4god,
It is good that we sit at His feet and learn from Jesus Christ. There lived a great woman of God in South India. She was an illiterate woman and suffered great tragedies in her life by losing all her three daughters in death. But she led a wonderful life. Christ had given her a lot of revelations as she sat at His feet. She did not study the Bible in any Bible college. No one taught her also. Please take time to read her biography prayerfully at the following link:
