4:1 But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, 4:2 through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; 4:3 forbidding to marry, `and commanding' to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.
Bible Note: One of the characteristics of the last days is that spiritual deception will increase. In our time, the New Age movement, Eastern religions, cults, and even so-called Christian churches have left the faith and have embraced deception and error. The root cause of this deception is spirits the deceive and doctrines created by demon powers. It is important to know for yourself exactly what the Bible says so that you are not deceived. Also, it is important not to falsely label something or somebody as being guilty of heresy just because you don't agree with his position. In all these matters, the clear teaching of the Bible is the final authority and judge.

We need to be stay grounded in God's Word or we could be part of this group falling away. Psalmist David said that he hid God's Word in his heart that he would not sin against God. We would do good to follow his example. ---- Stay connected! |
