| Answering the Call of God |
|
| |
Do you know what God's call on your life? Hearing the call of God can be a very difficult thing. The distractions of this world can often fade away the voice of God in our lives. We hear the world loudly, but the voice of God is a still small voice. We keep so busy with our daily lives, that we often times miss when God calls. Not a call that should go into voice mail!
So how can we clearly hear the call of God? The obvious way to hear His voice is to listen to what He has to say. That is, to read His Word. It sounds so simply, yet so hard to set the time aside to do. God's Word is a precious gift to us. What a shame for us to let it get all dusty and sit.
God often does speak to our hearts through His Word. But He also speaks to us through prayer, other people, and that still small voice. So our job is to determine who's calling. Whose voice is that? Don't you wish there was a Caller ID for spiritual things? But the truth is that God wants us to pursue Him. He wants us to seek His will for our lives. So often we may need to say, "God, what do you want to do with my life?" "What have you called me to do?" "What is my purpose here on this earth?"
How sad it would be if we were to leave this earth having not fulfilled His purpose for our lives. But often times the sounds of the world are so much louder than that still small voice. I have said in another post, that our God is a confirming God. So go ahead, ask Him! Again, and again! What is Your plan, Lord? I want what you want. What is your will for my life? Show me. Equip me. Direct me. And shine Your favor on my life regarding the call that You have hand-picked for me.
When the calls do come in, if it contradicts God word, don't answer. If there is sin involved, tell them they have the wrong number! But if it falls in line with Scripture, has been confirmed in your life, and you feel led of the Spirit; give it all you've got! His part is to call and equip, our part is to go and possess the promise land.
Answer the call of God for your life! Believe that you can do all things through Him who strengthens you. God has fully equipped you to do His will. So don't allow the evil one nor other people tell you anything different! You are called. You are chosen. Go ahead; answer the call. |

I have a few comments. :) First, this is such a great message, Sue! You are such a blessing for keeping the MyChurch family here focused on what is important. I got my call from God while I was on a short term mission. It is just so awesome to me that He loves us that much. How amazing that He takes the time to give each of us a purpose for our lives! I appreciate having a God-given objective so much that I can not even begin to explain it. :) Lastly, I can not believeyou mentioned one of your previous posts and did not plug it! I tried... but couldn't find the blog! :( Love always, Cj |

hehehe, Voice, you're funny!
Sue, you are definitely answering God's call in my opinion. It's awesome to see you on fire for the Lord at all times, what an encouragement! Problem is, while you're so busy answering God's call, all I get from you is a busy signal. lol just kidding! |

Sue - This is so timely!! I was just at a meeting where the speaker was discussing this very thing. I wonder if God is trying to tell me something? I mean I know about the CallerID concept and does it square with His Word. But knowing and doing can be 2 different things sometimes. The speaker also reminded us that those thoughts we have that are good have to come from God as nothing good is generated by the flesh. Only God can produce that so listen to those things that are good and line up with God's Truth. Great blog - thanks. Your brother in Christ, Brent |
