| Let God Color You! |
|
| |
When I was a growing up in the old days we covered our schoolbooks with brown book-covers, similar to trash sacks. They were so drab that it would just tear me up. Once mine were neatly taped in place, I would select from of my fabulously coloured markers and label each book neatly with my name, class subject, and then I would... c o l o r i t w i l d ! ! ! I would sip a Dr. Pepper and lose myself in music and the sheer delight of creating magic. After all of that work, I would reward myself with another Dr. Pepper and use packing tape to seal the artwork. By no means did I want my work to be destroyed or ruined... all that work! Oh, how it would have crushed me.... To be honest, there is still something about a bare of paper or computer screen. It just screams at me! "Come on, cover me up because I'm NAKED!!!" And because it is so pitiful, I feel I must help it come to life. Anything will do. I can write a poem, letter, or draw a flower. But there is one I must do to dress things up. I add c o l o r because it just perks things up; makes things sing out! I dream in c o l o r ... do you?? Co l o r i n g is good for your soul, and it keeps your body working better too. Now, I just made that up, but it might be true! God gives us a clean sheet of life every day. Think what could happen if we gave GOD the freedom He needs to c o l o r us and work through us... imagine what would happen if we just gave HIM a chance to paint us and have fun with us! God would probably have a wonderful time! So... God created c o l o r, and it is good. Really good! Just like everything else that He created! Let's let God have some fun. Every single day, let's open our arms to God, and sing out, "Color me, God! I'm Your's!" God depends upon you and I to share His Name, and His Glory and all that He has done for us so that other people will come to know Him and to love him. The message is precious and his love covers everyone single person! It is important and urgent that we share this message of hope.
Will you let God C O L O R you ?

I'm a pepper, she's a pepper, wouldn't you like to be a pepper, too? I knew there was some reason I liked you Joey!!
I remember one year I was hiking high in the Rockies way above the tree line. It was gray. Everything was gray. As I stood on top of the mountain taking in the scenery for miles around, I looked down at my feet. There I noticed several very small, tiny purple flowers. Had I not looked closely, I would have missed them and only seen the gray. Sometimes to see God's beauty, we have to look very carefully. |

This post made me smile from ear to ear....My hubby was a pepper...I used to think I needed to buy some stock. I didn't ever make the book covers but I love to color...there is something so relaxing in it for me...we have a tradition to get a new color book every christmas and once the tree is up we would order Chinese take out and then after supper, lay on our stomachs on the floor around the tree and color....we saved all the books and pack them away with the christmas stuff so its fun to look through the old ones from years past. Remember when they used to heat up the Dr. Pepper? YUCK!! Oh |

| I love this! It made me smile ear to ear too! My teenage girls and I still color with crayons. There is something about coloring that makes you smile. I love the analogy about letting God color you. It is just what I have needed to hear, I have made myself a little grey now it is time to let God color me. Great blog Joey! Thanks |

| I think one of the most fabulous things that God created is color. What colors He gives us in autumn, with the leaves...in the summer and spring with the flowers and trees and grass, and even in winter, with the snow, there are magical things that appear. This is a great blog Joey! |

Thanks, Joey. I'm sitting here, staring at this "naked" comment box and thinking how I need to do something with it.
OK, I’ll color it too! |

Joey,
Fantastic. All I could think of while reading this the wonderful colors that we have been blessed with. My wife and I sometimes walk around a pond at a local park. In the spring there are Mallard Ducks swimming in the pond. If you slow down and really look the colors of these birds are just wonderful. I may not be able to create the magic, but I sure do enjoy it.
Blessings,
Randy |

| I love decorating the covers on my books. I'd take my time and fill them in over the course of the year. I'm a definite doodler. As for coloring... every so often I buy an adult coloring book and break out the colored pencils. I like geometric designs the best but I'll color just about anything. I find it to be a great stress reliever. |
