Good post. In the beggining we were to share all things in common. Only until the Acts of the Apostles did someone touch that notion after the law. We should be 'above the law' in our approach to giving. When we can be a vessel to bless, God will give us more to bless others with money, knowledge or time.

Dear Chafas,  you have published a very good article exposing the falsehood regarding the levitical priesthood or the clergy system that is prevalent in all our churches including evangelical and penetcostal.

Dear Victorious, we have to give to those people of God whom we are supposed to help in the Body of Christ.

Dear Eltigre and Becky, thanks for your words of encouragement.  I am humbled by your words, thinking of my unworthiness in serving the people of God.

JOB OUSTANDING BLOG YOU DID IT AGAIN KEEP IT UP, Very Encouraging

There is an awful lot to think about here. There is a tendency to let the experts do all the teaching, preaching and evangelizing.  Someone at MyChurch.org asked me to write a biblical blog...that is the first time anyone ever encouraged me to do anything like that.

I go to a very large but very biblically sound, evangelististic church with about 20 pastors! They all humbly love the Lord and have different roles in the church because no one person could possibly do it all. We support many ministries, many missionaries and send members on their first missions trip first time...with 75% support and even give them a temporary job in the Thrift Store to earn the rest (which is matched).
Our deacons and board members pray over how to spend every penny and they feel accountable to the Lord for their decisions.

You have to prove over time you are worthy and faithful to get support for a new, relatively untried ministry. Gospel Mother Goose didn't get put on the budget for buying more tracts and wordless balloons and helium, so she had to quit for the summer. Hopefully she can start up again on her own soon. Child Evangelism has been a huge success and many are involved in our area, so probably THAT is why GMG is not on the list.
But this blog has made me very happy that I went ahead on my own to preach and teach as Gospel Mother Goose, support or not.  It is MY duty to be an evangelist...and this way was the best way I could think of that would use all my talents and skills. Child Evangelism was rigid on the way things had to be done their way...and while I use their wordless books and colors for my balloons, I am using puppets to tell Bible stories and using the Ancient Nusery Rhymes with new Christian words as well. It seems to work...about 5 or 6 children pray to receive Jesus as Savior each time. Afterward, we get to use Evangelism Explosion tracts with the parents of the kids in the park who are attracted to all the helium balloons on the cardboard castle, the puppets, violins, keyboard songs and games and giant picture books.

I have many non-traditional ideas for my church to break "out of the box" to use to evangelize but none of them have been accepted:

a Dixieland Saturday (circa 1910) at the Gazebo at Pier 60,

a Motorcycle Road Rally starring Bryan Duncan (addictions minister and Christian songwriter)

Neighborhood Evangelistic "Street Parties"...well advertised and prepared ahead of time

Making a Music Video starring Jesus (an actor) moving through the audience...healing, forgiving,
casting out demons. changing lives..then going on stage to raise the dead, have the Last
Supper, be arrested...then a shadow screen of the crucifixion...giving way to the tombstone
being rolled away to reveal glorious light from an empty tomb. The music tells the story of
Jesus and is an irresistible call to accept Him as Savior, composed, sung and played by our
amazingly gifted and godly Minister of Music, Kenn Mann.

It could be our church lacks the funds. These projects would need more support from our leaders who are so busy and committed that they cannot consider doing any more. New leaders need to be found who aren't already worked to death. But I don't want to write them off forever just because the church bureaucracy says no right now.
It could be that they can be done independently from the church...as this blog has suggested.
How encouraging that is. I wonder how God is going to lead in all these ideas...which are totally for evangelistic purposes.

Dear sister Connie,

I pray that the Lord may use you in your evangelical ministry in a manner never imagined by you. Do not bother about the financial constraints of your church.  Go ahead and ask your pastor to proceed by faith.  As you take the first step, the door will be opened for your ministry.  Funds will start pouring in.  Only two people are enough to do this work.  If you agree with your pastor, both of you can prayer together and do this wonderful ministry.  A woman of God with God is a majority.

Dear MaKelly, God is with you.  He can use you mightily even at this age.  Age is not a constraint for God to use you.

God can use the women of God like you and Sister Connie in the same manner as He uses the men evangelists today.

I agree Job, God loves a cheerful giver. Most of the tithing problems and issues really do come from wolves who think they are slaughtering the sheep, a TBN "raise-a-thon", or whatever they call them, comes to mind, when they basically say that if you don't give to the "Praise-a-thon" you won't have Gods blessing, now those who have a bit more faith in the Grace of God will see through worldly con-artists in priests robes, but for the weak of faith, they feel condemned when assaulted with one of these ultimatums. Anyway in the midst of all the wolves, we shouldn't forget that giving is always a good thing. Even when one of the little ones gives to the "wolves" unknowingly, they have lost nothing, and those alms are remembered as well, and for the wolves, they will get more than just alms, they probably get nice hot coals put on their heads.
