The 2008 Holiness Congress is coming soon, which means our Ministry Fair plans are under way! But we need your help! If you plan on attending the Congress, then we would love for you to register for the Ministry Fair and volunteer to donate 2 hours of your time, to man a booth! Only two hours that could change the lives of thousands of people that will pass through the Ministry Fair.
This is especially an important event for many Candidates and FOF Members, in that it will allow you to show people what The Salvation Army is all about, what our services and programs are, and even bring people closer to participating in a ministry. You won't miss any of the reunions, and you will be able to eat for free that day - as long as you register for the Ministry Fair.
The Ministry Fair will be held at the Holiness Congress, on Saturday 7th, from 11:30am to 1:30pm. To register, please go to www.godeeperwithgod.org and you will be able to register at the same time as for the Congress. If you have already registered for the Congress, please let either Selena Valdes (Selena_Valdes@uss.salvationarmy.org) or Ted McGourn (ted4congress@aol.com) know, so that they may have your division change your status.
Please be in prayer for our Ministry Fair, as we look to bring people closer to God through The Salvation Army.

At this year's Holiness Congress, there is a new and intriguing twist - a Ministry Fair to be held on Saturday, June 7th from 11:30am - 1:30 pm, for ages 20 - 40. This event is open to the public, but if you register ahead of time for the fair, then lunch will be provided free-of-charge.
The Ministry Fair will be set up in a job fair format; each booth represents a ministry and will have two laptops set up on it. The ministries will vary widely from SONdaysCOOL, to the many events held yearly, to mission trips across the world. This is a chance for you to learn more about The Salvation Army, to get involved in a ministry in your corps and community, and to see where God is leading you.
There will also be a raffle to win Study Bible software (1 per division).
In order to qualify for the raffle, you must visit a minimum of 30 booths, watch the video and/or navigate the website at each booth, and have your card hole-punched by the booth supervisor. Then at the end of the fair, you will take your card to a table which will have boxes (1 for each division and THQ), and drop your card into the correct box.
Wanted...
... Passionate
... Compassionate
... Brave
... Uplifting
... Trustworthy
... Informed individuals who want to positively affect their world.

Good morning, everyone!
I'd like to invite you all to view the candidates website, as we are adding new resources and opportunities for Candidates - these resources will help you grow in Christ and prepare for the SFOT and for a life in ministry. Please visit the Bible Quizzes page listed under the "Resources" section, to test your bible knowledge.
Also, if there is something that you'd like to see on the website that you believe will be beneficial to candidates and FOF members, please send us a message and we'll see what we can do for you!

| | Good morning, everyone! The Holiness Congress will be a wonderful weekend of worship, fellowship, and all around fun! :) One of the top things (other than the Ministry Fair) will be the Commissioning Ceremony. This is the day that the 2nd year cadets officially graduate from the SFOT, and are ready to go out into the world to spread HIS Good News. :) I have been to two of them, and I can truly say that it was a moving experience. :) Now, on to the Ministry Fair: It will take place on Saturday, June 7th, between 11:30 - 1:30pm (the lunch hour when everyone takes a break). This fair will have booths set up with two laptops, each booth representing a Division, a ministry of The Salvation Army, even local colleges. The ministries represented will be anything from the Sunday School, to Roots, to ARC's, and so much more. :)
What we need from you (if you are attending and we highly suggest that you do - you won't regret it at all), is for you to take care of a booth for those two hours. When I say take care of it, I mean tell people about the ministry that is represented by the booth... we'll assign you to a specific booth. One of the two laptops on the booths (which are really just small tables, no chairs), will have a website to the ministry represented, and the other laptop will have a powerpoint presentation or video, looping. Your part will be showing people how to navigate the website and just answering questions about the ministry.
Basically we just want to show people what they can do in their home corps, communities, and so much more. We want people's eyes to be opened to the possibilities that God has in store for them, and to lead them to a ministry.
Depending on the booth that you are assigned to, you'll get information ahead of time about the subject, so that you will know what to tell people when they ask you questions. :)
So, what do you think? Are you ready to take part in God's plan to bring people to ministry of some sort?
Thank you for your cooperation, I look forward to hearing from you soon. :)
God Bless,
Selena Valdes Candidates Department
