 Interview
This movie is just plain weird. It's simply about a failing political journalist who is forced to interview a movie star who's one of those "it" girls with the media. Pretty much the whole movie takes place in the movie star's apartment. I think the whole idea of the movie was a good one, but the execution just wasn't up to par. It was quite confusing because there were no consistencies in the way the two characters treated each other, or even the way they acted around each other. I have to say that I got a bit frustrated at times because I just didn't understand why they were friendly one minute and yelling at each other the next, with no real motivation. The ending was pretty clever and was definitely the most interesting part of the movie. Aside from being one of the two main (pretty much only) characters, Steve Buscemi (whom I love) wrote and directed this movie, too. I think it's safe to say that he should just stick to acting for other people. I'm content with being the person to tell you to just skip this one altogether. D
 The Departed
I just now got around to seeing this. I really enjoyed it. There were quite a few places where I was a bit distracted by bad sequencing/editing, but I tried to stay focused. I thought the story was really cool, and the acting, for the most part, was excellent. Just in case you don't know, the main plot is that there are two moles, one working for the police from inside the mafia, and one working for the mafia from inside the police department. Both are given the job of finding the other. Pretty intense, right? Exactly right. The language, of course, is quite rough, but if you haven't seen this, I'd recommend giving it a try. A
 Infernal Affairs
After watching The Departed, I was interested in checking out the film it was based on. Infernal Affairs was made in Hong Kong, and runs about half the time as The Departed. To say it was a bit confusing would be an understatement. Obviously, the plot was really good (pretty much the exact same as The Departed), but had I not seen The Departed first, I would have been completely lost. The first hour of The Departed is pretty much dedicated to meeting characters and explaining all of the back story. This only lasts for about 15 minutes in Infernal Affairs. So, on top of having to read the dialog, the story was just way too fast paced. I would stick with The Departed unless you're just plain hardcore. C

The Bourne Ultimatum
We actually saw this a couple of weeks ago, but I totally forgot to review it, which is weird, because it’s one of the best movies so far this year. I guess there isn’t a whole lot to say, anyway, though. If you like the Bourne movies, you’ll like this one. If you’ve seen the other Bourne movies, you need to see this one. All that good stuff. It seriously was really, really good, though. I had someone ask me which one I liked the best, and I honestly couldn’t answer. Even more so than most trilogies, they are too much a part of each other. The first one really gets you into the story, the second one is really action-packed and fun, and the third one closes out the story for you. It’s more like one movie chopped into three parts. All three are awesome, and none of them would be as good without the others.
Just see it.
A

The Dog Problem
This movie wasn’t necessarily bad, but wasn’t really that great either. It was just kind of there. There were some funny parts, and some somewhat interesting parts, but mostly it was just kind of blah. I can’t really recommend anyone watching this when they could be watching something better…
D

Mini’s First Time
This was actually pretty good. Surprisingly. The acting was good. The plot was a little messed up, but still good. It’s not really a movie I’d recommend to everyone, or maybe even most, but there are probably a few people out there who would enjoy it.

It’s a Boy Girl Thing
Yes, this is another one of those “something weird happens and we switch bodies” movies. No, it wasn’t terrible. Actually, I’d have to say it’s probably the best one of “those” movies I’ve seen. It was actually pretty funny and sincere. I thought both of the main characters did a pretty good job of acting like the opposite sex trapped in their rivals body. This is a good one for a relaxing night without much thinking involved, but some pretty good comedy and your typical happy ending.
C

Sunshine
I actually really liked this movie, although I think it was too long and too hard to follow at times. It’s a really cool idea, and if you look past some of the slow parts and some of the convoluted parts, the story is very unique and interesting. If you don’t know, the movie is about the sun finally dying out, and a crew is sent to get it shinning again. It was made by the guy who did 28 Days Later, The Beach, Trainspotting and a movie you probably haven’t seen, but should, Shallow Grave. Needless to say, I am a fan of his, and this movie didn’t disappoint.
B

The TV Set
I really, really liked this one. It was quite funny and interesting. It’s pretty much about the whole process of how a television show goes from concept to pilot, in hopes of being picked up by a network. The way the show changes to appease the big wigs at the network is quite humorous, and almost sad, at the same time. This is a really good movie with some really great performances (especially David Duchovny and Sigourney Weaver), and I think most people would probably enjoy it.

Earlier today Nick tagged me, telling me to find one of my favorite movie scenes on youtube and put it on our blog. I found quite a few clips from quite a few of my favorites. I didn’t know eveyone he tagged would be so quick to respond, so now I’m somewhat behind. Because I have quite a few clips I’d like to show, I think I might make “Favorite Movie Scenes” a weekly thing for the next few weeks. But, to get on with the “game,” here is my first clip:
Dead Poets Society
****SPOILER****ENDING****

This is one of the greatest movies ever made, and the ending is so inspiring and emotional. My favorite part is the very end when it shows Todd through someone else in the classrooms legs, and it looks like he’s in some sort of spotlight. I just always thought that was really cool. I also always found it rather funny, for lack of a better word, that about half of the class is still sitting down. What a bunch of nerds. Even MEEKS is standing on his desk!
If you haven’t seen this movie, go BUY it now.
I tag: Sheena, Reid, Ashley, J.T., and KelsEy.

Spaced is a British television show that aired in 1999 (season 1) and 2001 (season 2). It was written by, and stars, Jessica Hynes and, more notably, Simon Pegg of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz fame (both of which are must-sees). Simon’s co-star in the aforementioned movies, Nick Frost, is also a part of the cast. It’s mainly a comedy of very quirky characters, as the actual plot isn’t really that important to the story that takes place in each episode.
Jason introduced me to the show, and although I’m not nearly as big of a fan as he is (he says it’s better than Arrested Development. Blasphemy!), it is a quite interesting and entertaining show.
I have two episodes left to finish the first season, and I must say that the episodes keep getting better and better. The episode I watched last night was pretty hilarious. Hopefully this trend will continue.
You can download all the episodes from both seasons here, for free.
So why not check it out?

I began blogging in October of 2001.
I used an amazing site called diaryland (haha) and began blogging to appease a couple of my college classmates who had started blogging themselves, and wanted me to join the club.
In April of 2004 I made the amazing leap from diaryland to xanga. This was a major improvement, design and functionality-wise.
Then, in June of 2006, as my wife and I were wed, so were our glorious blogs. We made the switch from xanga to wordpress, and never looked back.
It’s embarrassing going back and reading this stuff. Which is why I’m sharing it with you. I just love embarrassing myself…
It has been a long and wonderful journey and I would like to thank all of my very loyal readers for sticking with me through all these years. Yeah, right.
Seriously, though… six years. Geez.
