Welcome!

Welcome to the Christ Gospel Church Web site. However you found yourself here today…whether intentionally or unintentionally, we’re glad you found us!  We encourage you to take some time and look around and get a sense for what is important to us. It’s our hope that you will find and sense that God Himself is our greatest treasure.  We aim to be God-centered and Christ-exalting in all we do. We treasure the Word of God and highly value the teaching of the Bible for all ages, through classes and through expository preaching.  We also treasure our relationships with one another as fellow sojourners and are intentional about deepening them with one another.  Please contact me if you have a question or comment. We’d be delighted to hear from you!

Pastor Anthony Dixon

Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food, if one of you say to him go I wish you well, keep warm and well fed, but does nothing about his physical needs what good is it? James 2:1,16

If we look at the different encounters that Jesus had with people, I almost every cases he first address a felt need. In many situations the overwhelming need of sickness was met by healing often followed by spiritual advice.

Here we are seeing people who needs for health, food, clothing and shelter are overwhelming. Our first message to them must target their felt need. Doing it is the way the way Christ communicated. I doubt we find a better way.

VISIONs and GOALS

Church Planting

As part of the great commission of our Lord Jesus, in Matt. 28:19-27, our ministry shall be involved with planting churches in the various parts of Liberia for the purpose of winning souls and teaching biblical doctrines to prepare the people for the return of Christ.

Building of Schools and Clinics

We shall open mission schools in strategic in areas of the country to enable people especially children in those communities to have access to quality education. These schools shall teach the Bible as a major subject and also teach moral life styles to the children. Bible schools will be established to prepare young men and women desirous of serving in ministry; such as pastors, evangelists, etc. Of course clinics will be built and opened to serve the community with basic medical services with special attention to maternity and pediatrics.

Establish Homes for the Old Aged, Widows and Orphans

In fulfilling the portion of the scriptures which commands us to look after orphans and widows (James 1:27), our ministry shall establish homes to cater to old aged, abandon widows, orphans, etc; giving them material and spiritual support. Widows and children particularly, are vulnerable in our societies because there are no retirement/pension benefits in place even if the individual was once employed. No social assistance from the government is available at the moment; don't speak about life insurance- the presence of insurance companies seems symbolic with no realistic positive impact on the people who contribute during their employment. This explains how difficult our people are surviving with no real support. The women and children shall have separate homes were they will be taught many lessons to improve their knowledge with the Word of God being the priority which is the most precious gift of all.

Resources

Firstly, we thank God for the successful planting of our first church here in Paynesville City, Liberia, which now has around forty (40) members- excluding children. One of the members, Deacon Morris Fayah offered us a spot on his piece of land where we are pretty close to completion of a church edifice(25 feet by 40 feet) for worship.

Members Building

Even though our resources are very limited and we are now in the process of training leaders who will prioritize the vision of the ministry. We are looking forward to using offering and donations from the churches' account to enhance the task on hand; furthermore, we are asking other organizations to assist us in the pursuit of our goals. For now, we do not have a clear idea of the exact financial and material resources required/needed to achieve this goal, but we do believe as we have begun with the little resources, God will open the door for people and the rest.

What I love about this church...
