- I Meet God in the Morning
Each day at dawning I lift my heart high And raise up my eyes to the infinite sky. I watch my night vanish as a new day is born, And I hear the birds sing on the wings of the morn. I see the dew glisten in crystal-like splendor While God, with a touch that is gentle and tender, Wraps up the night and softly tucks it away And hangs out the sun to herald a new day..... And so I give thanks and My heart kneels to pray, "God, keep me and guide me and go with me today." "Helen Steiner Rice"

Not What You Want, but What God Wills Make your Comments HEARD using CommentYou2.comDo you want what you want when you want it, do you pray and expect a reply? And when it's not instantly answered, do you feel that God passed you by? Well, prayers that are prayed in this manner are really not prayers at all, For you can't go to God in a hurry and expect Him to answer your call. For prayers are not meant for obtaining what we selfishly wish to acquire, For God in His wisdom refuses the things that we wrongly desire.... And don't pray for freedom from trouble or pray that life's trials pass you by. Instead pray for strength and for courage to meet life's dark hours and not cry That God was not there when you called Him and He turned a deaf ear to your prayer And just when you needed Him most of all He left you alone in despair. Wake up! You are missing completely the reason and purpose of prayer, Which is really to keep us contented that God holds us safe in His care..... And God only answers our pleadings when He knows that our wants fill a need, And whatever our will becomes His will There is no prayer that God does not heed.

I remember so well this prayer I said each night as my mother tucked me in bed, And today this same prayer is still the best way To sign off with God at the end of the day And ask Him your soul to safely keep As you wearily close your tired eyes in sleep, Feeling content that the Father above Will hold you secure in His great arms of Love...... And having His promise that if ere you wake, His angels reach down, your sweet soul to take Is perfect assurance that, awake or sleep, God is always right there to tenderly keep All of His children ever safe in His care, For God's here and He's there and He's everywhere...... So into His hands each night as I sleep, I commend my soul for the dear Lord to keep, knowing that if my soul should take flight It will soar to the land where there is no night. Blessings and Prayers to all My family, and friends.

The WindowAuthor Unknown
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.
The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."
Epilogue. . . .There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy. "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the PRESENT".
