Our church is pastored by Rev. Dr. Robert Helton (he prefers Rob or Pastor Rob).  He is leading the congregation to be followers of Christ, not just hearers.  For the first time since it's establishment in 1952, Cherry Point Baptist church has added a contemporary worship service at the 8:30am time slot.  A traditional worship service continues to offer worship opportunities to almost 150-175 dedicated and visitor friendly members.  We are looking forward to a new building addition to be used for many ministry favorites and new ministry opportunities.

AND we are very excited about a new multi-site venture in the Havelock, NC area called The Bridge.  Visit this site often to read about how it's coming along.

Please use this site to connect (or re-connect) to the church and individuals with the church family.  If you want to be more direct in your comments, suggestions or questions, please contact Pastor Rob via phone:  252-447-5462 or email:
pastorrob@cherrypointbaptist.com.

Add this site to your "favorites" list and visit frequently.  We will try to keep you intellectually stimulated and conveniently informed as to what's happening.  You can add your church related photos,  comments and blogs to make the site even more informative and interesting.  Don't forget to invite others in the church to join this forum:

What I love about this church...

Dear MyChurch participants --

I know I haven't been very active on MyChurch lately.  It's due to a problem with my computer not being able to get online.  It's hard to gain access to another computer, so my time on MyChurch has been limited.  Hopefully, our "resident computer man", Bill, will be able to install a new wireless card soon and I'll be up to speed.

In the meantime, please don't lose interest...AND do add your comments, blogs, events, membership requests, etc. and be a part of the MyChurch activity; especially about The Bridge.

By the way, I have several The Bridge E-Letters to email out as soon as I get hooked up again.  Be looking for that!  C'ya soon!  PTL, Ed

Hi Amber,
Hopefully you can find some friends in this area and talk to them about things that are going on in Havelock.  You can comment publically or send an email message to individuals you click on.  Either way, I hope it helps in your desire to move to our area.  PTL--Ed

Hi My name is Amber Webb. I live in Harrisburg, AR. I lived in Cherry Point for 7  years, while my dad was a marine. I am wanting to move back to the area after I finish school. So I became interested in this church. I have listened to Pastor Rob's messages online and enjoyed them. I hope I will make many friends before I get down there.

God Bless,

Amber  Webb

Hey folks,

I'm soooooo glad you decided to become a part of the MyChurch.org/cherrypointbapist community.  I wanted to remind you that this site is safe and a great way to connect with other church members.  Please feel free to submit your photos of church activities, insert events that you think will be of interest to our folks, and add bulletins and important messages to the site.  Remember, too, that the moderator (yours truly) will be able to approve/disapprove any negative or improper submissions, so that's added insurance of safety.

One last thing...please invite others to join the church group.  If they complain that they don't know what's going on, or if they just want to talk about things, or if they have a word of encouragement, then this is the place.  We'd like to get some younger folks on-board, too.  They have some great feedback to what's going on in church and we need them!

So spread the word, this is something that's never been done before and we want to get everyone that has a computer (or goes to a cyber-cafe, library or a friend's house to use theirs) to participate.  And why not?

Help!!!  We need more of our church friends to join up with www.mychurch.org/cherrypointbaptist.  As you can see, this site is very beneficial.  If you put it on your computer's "favorites" list and review it once a week or so, you'll be up to date on a lot of things.

Also, you can correspond to others in the church and also ask questions about what is not posted.  It can be fun, entertaining, informational and educational, too.

Spread the word to everyone you know to hook up with this new medium, especially the youth--we need to hear from them, too.  What do you say guys!!!!!!!

Make sure you look at the sharing tab at the top of this page.  If you are a parent and have a need for furniture, look at it.  If you have something that you think someone else can use...post it!  Simple as that!  Thanks for sharing.

Just one more comment about Eric Horner.  If you are becoming an Eric Horner "groupie" (or even if you're not) there is another opportunity for you to hear him.  He will be featured at the Community Easter Service on March 23, 2008 at 10:30am at the West Carteret High School in Morehead City.  As a matter of fact there will be an Easter egg hunt for the kids at 12:30 and a free luncheon following the service, too.

Now, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want you to forgo our Easter Services here at CPBC (the choir has worked very hard to bring an exciting and memorable cantata), what I am saying is that if you know of anyone in the Morehead City area that does NOT belong to a church, this would be a great opportunity for them.

Wow, what a great day at CPBC this past Sunday.  The morning service was about missions.  It was an "out of the four walls" message that went over very good.  Thanks, Iva for the reminder of what was, is and needs to be in the area of reaching people for Christ by caring for their needs.

Hey, wasn't Eric Horner great last night?  My only regret was more people didn't come.  Next time he comes to our church (would you like to have a "next time"?) we'll try to do better advertising in the community and on base.  Being a veteran myself, I appreciated the emphasis on honoring the military family.  Eric is a genuine Christian gentleman.  If you missed the concert, see you next time!  If you came...Thanks for your support, I hope you enjoyed the event!

Hey Guys!  Be sure to check out the new photos.  Can you pick out your deacon?  If not call the office...we'll tell you who it is.
