Support Drive:
IMPACT is wrapping up the support drive. We had a successful and festive
Support Drive Celebration on May 17th. The goal for individual investors in
our member congregations was $15,000 and so far $13,751 has been raised. The
goal from local businesses was $10,000 and so far $5,500 has been raised.
There are a few potential corporate investors that we are waiting to hear
back from.

Issue Work:
Regarding our transportation work: (1) the head of CTS is pleased with
ridership on the Southwood route, (2) Sunday bus service starts August 26th,
and (3) we have been working to keep night service for route 5 on the front
burner. The County Transportation Planner is recommending applying for a
grant to cover 2/3 of the cost for night service to start next year on route
5. The committee will continue to monitor and follow up.

Regarding affordable housing: (1) the City of Charlottesville is spending a
total of 2.1 million dollars on affordable housing this year. Decisions have
been deferred several times about how these monies will be allocated. The
IMPACT housing committee has been actively involved in advocating and
attending City Council and advisory meetings to ensure at least 420K goes to
families making less than $20,000 a year. (2) The committee has also been
actively involved in moving the Charlottesville- Albemarle-UVa Task Force
forward. Progress is being made and key officials from the City and County
have scheduled a planning meeting.

Next Steps:
Congregations are gearing up for the annual listening process. House
meetings will be held in late August and September. The Fall Assembly will
be on October 15, 2007.
