For The Bible Tells Me So
By||October 13, 2007

The Virginia Film Festival is happening soon.

On Friday November 2nd at the Regal Cinema #4 at 4PM as part of the festival a 95 minute documentary film will be shown which deals with the relationship between the Christian church and Christian families dealing with homosexuality.

"Documentary filmmaker Daniel Karslake follows five devout Christian families attempting to reconcile the love they feel for their gay children with the teachings of their church. The result is an intelligent, heartfelt and even-handed exploration of what the Bible truly says about how Christians should deal with homosexuality."

Tickets cost $6 apiece and are available on-line at: http://www.vafilm.com/php-bin/filmfest/eventsList.php?day=39&event=434#EVENT434

I saw this film with Nancy and Sam this past weekend in Ithaca, NY. If you ever have the opportunity -- regardless of your pre-dispositions to the topic of homsexuality, or your beliefs about homosexuality and sin and the Bible -- go see the film. Obviously, the documentary takes one perspective, which you may or may not agree with, but I think it presents its view with a certain amount of respect for the core teachings and values of Christianity. You may come to realize, as I think that I have, that in another generation, this issue dies away. The next generations understand homsexuality much differently than older generations do.
