Tips for Entering Pictures. You can use any picture. Digital cameras are great. If you only have a printed picture, that will work also. It just needs to be scanned. Today many printers are called Multi-function Printers because they will scan a photo as well as print from a computer. You can also take a paper photo and disc to any store that develops photos and they will scan it to a file on your disc.
Crop Those Photos. This means reduce all unecessary space around your Face. All good "headshot" photographs fill at least 2/3rds of the available space or "canvas" with your beautiful face which God has created. Photos of you in a chair with 2/3rds of your living room, won't work well. This can be done very easily in Microsoft Paint which is already on your computer under
Start button, then
Programs, then
Acessories. Be sure to save only as a .JPG file type.
Cropping can also be done at any drug store photo departments
Resize Your Photo. Pictures should be
no wider than 180 pixels wide. The length of the pictue can be longer. When MyChurch.com is uploaded too small or too big pictures it does the best it can. Usually this results in poor images becuse they are not optimized for the space available.
Here is a link to some free re-sizeing software as your Paint program does not do this well.
FastStone Photo Resizer is an image converter/resizer intended to enable users to convert, rename, resize, rotate, change color depth, add text and watermarks to images in a quick and easy batch mode. It crops but I found Paint easier to use to crop. Drag and Drop mouse operation is well supported.
