We are a church. Pretty "normal" (if there is such a thing as "normal"). But we think that Jesus Christ is a guy who is God's Son. In fact, our whole reason for living is to tell you all about that! We believe in the Trinity (that means there's only one God but it's weird because there's actually three persons in One. Ask Kevin to explain THAT!). We read the Bible as if it actually came from God Himself. It did! Really! And it says that Jesus Christ was God-in-the-flesh: "God was in Christ." Why would God do that? Because my sin and your sin keeps us away from God. But He loves us so much, so "He sent Jesus, and anybody that believes in him won't die in sin but you'll have life -- new life, real life, eternal life." The Bible says "God was in Christ reconciling the whole world to Himself." Too good to be true...but it's true! So we're "normal" Christians. We're part of a denomination, too. That's good, because it lets us bless people all around the world. Members of Augusta First Church have traveled the globe doing really amazing things. Also, we have a really high level of accountability; we're very responsible and as a church we can take the message of Jesus Christ everywhere because we have missionaries, resources, and lots of great connections. We’re like Jesus' Mafioso -- we've got connections! That's a good thing. So what do we really believe? You'll have to get inside to know for sure, but here's what people are saying: First, we're Christian (means we exist to follow Jesus and bless the world); second, we're holiness-minded (means that God's power in my life & your life can set us free from sin to love God and love everyone else); third & finally, we're missional (means God blesses us so we can bless YOU and anyone else we meet). Christian...holiness...missional. That’s our 3 core values. You can think what you want, but that’s the non-negotiable values. We exist to know God and to make Him known
