Mission Statement:Love God, Pray, Study His Word, Love People. West Charleston Baptist is a community outreach church. One of our ministries is Food Co-op providing food needs in return for an hour of service of some type (so they won’t feel they are charity and harm their self-esteem) and a Bible study while they are provided a lunch. Another ministry is Jarrett Terrace Lunch ministry. Each Saturday lunch is prepared and delivered to a hi-rise apartment housing senior/disabled residents with a low income who qualify for Meals On Wheels. Meals On Wheels do not deliver on weekends, thus the need for this ministry. People need to eat whether it is a weekday or a weekend. For our newest ministry still in the creating process, we’ve purchased the old convenience store building across the street. It’s been painted and redecorated to be used as a "coffee shop" type setting. It will be a place to meet & chat; it will provide work training for people seeking employment but who have no work experience or employment skills. Adjacent to this purpose it will be a ministry of meeting their spiritual, emotional and/or physical needs.
