About Me
Community of Men is a ministry based out of North Minneapolis with the sole purpose of drawing men out of isolation and into community. We do this by meeting monthly for social activities where we can learn to trust one another and discover similar interests. But we also offer weekly support/accountability groups to any man who finds himself stuck in his sin or addiction. We also make resources available to anyone who wants to start a similar ministry in their church or community.

Our Core Beliefs about Manhood:

1. Man is created to be relational.
2. Man is his weakest in isolation.
3. Man is by nature a selfish individual and therefore only as strong as his support system.
4. Man can only be held accountable when he chooses to let himself be.
5. All men live with the same temptations and insecurities.
6. Our sin and the shame that accompanies it have been paid for at the cross.
7. We are physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual beings all at the same time.
8. Man's single biggest need is affirmation.

That stuff is my job, my heart and my passion. But my pleasure, my joy and my first priority is being the husband my wife Jean deserves. I also want to be the father that my three boys Joseph, Braden, and Jordan need. The whole purpose of Community of Men is so that I can be and do theses things for those I love and who love me. I don't want "God First, my wife second, my kids third and myself last" just to be a christian cliche that I plug into my life. I want it to be real, but I can be pretty selfish. So I choose to live my life in an accountable community of like-minded men who can help me keep my priorities in their proper order.

May there be peace within you today.
May you trust God that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.
I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet
when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.

The Real Meaning of Christmas

A Christmas Poem by Joseph P. Martino Copyright© 2003

Two thousand years ago the King of Kings was born.

'The Lamb of God' later made to feel the thorn,

If his words are accepted and not scorned,

They will make us all reborn.

Though God's grace, Joseph and Mary presented

A gift to the world that day, which we can all repay,

by living the ten commandments each and every day.

Try to remember and keep in your heart and mind

Jesus's gospel while here on Earth,

Redemption not a life lived in constant mirth.

Peace on Earth, good will toward man

Everyone should try it, whenever they can.

The Lord gave us the option and choice of 'free will,'

Now it's up to us to fit the bill.

So when you’re Christmas shopping for family and friends,

and money is tight at both ends,

Remember that the greatest gift of all,

Is your love of Jesus in the manger stall.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed and Happy New Year.

Pastor Ken and Aminata
