The Community of St. Malachi began in 1967 when a group of Catholic women and men celebrated the 11:00 Liturgy together. They were seeking to implement and experience liturgical reform and the expanded role of the laity brought about by the Second Vatican Council.
The Community became a personal, non-territorial parish of the Diocese of Cleveland in 1975 with its own Charter and Mission. Rapid growth of the Community filled the Church of St. Malachi with our dreams, our spirit and our vision.
Now in 2007 as the Community of St Malachi prepares to cluster with the parishes of St. Malachi, St. Patrick, and St. Wendelin, the Community brings to the Cluster its history, its mission, and its charisms/values. |
