About Me  
Hello Everyone!

I've been at Valley now for 2.5 yrs. I was introduced to Valley by my mom about 6 months before I moved back to Bakersfield.  I attended Valley Bible every other weekend when I was in town.  I had been attending a small church in Torrance and on occassion First Christian in Huntington Beach.  I remember the first time I attended VBF, I fell in love with the worship.  The church I attended in HB had very traditional worship and my home church was like that of Valley but not quite the magnitude.  Whenever I would visit VBF I would always look forward to hearing what Pastor Ron had to say, and I thought that if I ever moved back to Bakersfield, that I would make VBF my home church.  My background growing up, I wasn't really exposed to church but I knew of God because of my grandmother.  (My mother didn't allow me to attend church with my grandmother because she was a JW)  So this whole church and relationship with the Lord was totally new to me.  The story of my salvation....well not like most.  It wasn't anything of great distress that brought me to my knees.  My roomates that I was living with in HB were the ones to introduce me to church and Christ.  I remember asking them one sunday morning where they were going and they responded "church" My response "CHURCH?!" At that time in my life of partying church was the furthest and last thing on my mind.  My roomates had come to a point where they were begining to re-evaluate their lives.  They on the other had grown up in church and they were returning back.  I saw the changes in them and because I didn't want to get left behind (I didn't want to lose them as friends/family) and them come to find out......that literally....I would've been left behind!....LOL  I'm thankful for my sisters and loving me enough to share Christ with me.  I have to say that over this last year I've grown the most with the trial that I'm going through.  I've never experience peace and joy like I have in my life now.  I love the Lord with all my heart and my greatest desire is to someday serve him fulltime.  Some of the ministries I'm invovled in are; Choir, WIA, and I help my sister Elvia with catering the MM & WIA dinners.
