About Me

Hi everyone! :wave:

PastorDATM is the acronym for "Pastor of David and Theresa Ministries" (http://datm.org). If you have not guessed it by now; my name is David. I bet that was a hard one! Actually, most of my friends just call me Dave so why not just call me that? Generally, whenever I hear "David" being called it is my wife when she is mad at me or my dog. :eek: LOL My friend that is sitting on my lap is Mito (as seen in my avatar). The name "Mito" is also an acronym. Her name means "More Intelligent Than Owner" which is not too far from the truth.

You see, I have a rare neuromuscular disorder that is progressive. That is why in addition to Mito sitting on my lap; you will find me sitting in my "chair" as us wheelers call it. My disability is a Do It Sitting ABILITY!

Yeah, I'm an acronym freak. ;) Now to really add to all of this new knowledge for you, the rare disorder I have is also known as "mito" which is short for mitochondrial. The upper case "Mito" keeps me going while the lower case "mito" tries to drag me down. It is a battle of good versus bad and the end of my story will have a glorious ending! Thank you Jesus!

April 16, 2007, a day I'll never forget. With respect to tragedies involving deaths outside of my immediate family, the Virginia Tech killings of 32 innocent people probably hit closest to home. I attended that school of higher education back in the mid 1970's. I lived in East Ambler Johnston where the first murders took place and I had classes in Norris Hall where the rest of the deaths occurred. My neighbor's son had a friend that was there that day. A friend's supervisor from where I used to work had a son who was there that day. There is a good possibility that many of you know somebody that was also closely affected. Please keep all of us in your prayers.

I really don't watch any because I cannot understand the words being said due to my deafness. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would be "The Passion of Christ."

I really don't listen to any because I cannot understand the words being said due to my deafness. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would be "Shout to the Lord" by Darlene Zschech.

Books

The Holy Bible and many well written reference books. I do most of my Bible study using PC Study Bible by Biblesoft. Since it is computerized, I can enlarge the fonts so I can read the text easier.

Television

I really don't watch much television because I cannot understand the words being said due to my deafness. I can always use the closed captioning feature but that also tends to be a challenge for me. You see, I have a hard time reading the words and watching the action at the same time. Yeah, I cannot chew gum and rub the top of my head at the same time either. LOL
