It grieves me to say that one of my best online friends, Ric Sims, passed away 2 days ago. Ric has a MyChurch profile here. It is amazing how close we can become to one another when seperated by keyboards on each end. Ric was an amazing guy, unable to move anything below his neck due to a spinal cord energy, he maintained an online forum at Wheelchair Forums, went pistol and rifle shooting, skydived, many things that many abled bodied individuals will never do.
Today would have been his 44th birthday.
I miss Ric already but am conforted to know that Ric is in Heaven and is no longer "trapped" in a body that would not move. I look forward to seeing him again.
Please keep his mother, Bobbie, and his sister, Karen, and all of Ric's family and friends in your prayers during the grieving period. But please rejoice with him knowing that he knew Jesus Christ!
God bless you all!
Dave

Yesterday, I wrote a blog about receiving a healing. Today, I am beginning to see that the healing is on a much larger plane than I had originally thought. I am now able to physically do some things that I have not been able to do for well over a year.
Many of you know that I am a wheelchair user and the extent of my ability to walk for the past year is to do a standing transfer... Rise up an stand - rotate - sit down again. We use that maneuver to get from my wheelchair to a chair or to bed. It is all due to degeneration of my muscles and central nervous system due to a rare disorder known as MELAS. It is a cousin to the better known Muscular Dystrophy.
When I received my healing yesterday, I knew that I knew that I knew. There was no question that a miracle had occurred in my life. I am still praising God for His Son's sacrifice for my life.
But today, the healing seems to be progressing further than what I originally experienced. For the first time in a year, I was able to use a walker to walk around the family room for about 50 paces. Praise God! I was tired and sore after the fact but the fact remains I WALKED! Only one place that came from... God's continued working of my miracle.
So... On a serious note. Please continue to hold me in prayer for a continued regeneration of what the devil has stolen. I don't know where this will lead but I do know that God will be glorified.
Thank you Jesus!

It has been awhile since I have blogged and I really miss you all. I appreciate your prayers, comments, messages, etc. because they mean so much to me. Sometimes I don't show it but the MyChurch community is my favorite group of friends. It gets lonely day in and day out sitting at home becoming more affected by my neurological condition. I suffer from a lot of pain and yesterday a consequence to all of this reared its ugly head.
7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: So I stood on this verse yesterday and asked for a healing from the devil's plan of my demise. Later last night, I got my wife involved with the prayer because the forces seemed insurmountable.
Well, today, I am FREE of the force that reared its ugly head yesterday and I praise God for His truths. Thank you Jesus! I need you now more than ever. Amen!
Thank you MyChurch community for being here. I love you, He lives and together we will not be overcome!

Howdy folks! Oh how I love you all! Some of you keep closer tabs on my well being than my church does. That makes me feel so good to have lots and lots of MyChurch friends!
Healthwise, I am doing OK but getting weaker as time goes by. I require more rest and have been placed on a higher dose of medicine to combat the daily pain I have as a result of deteriorating muscles and nerves. But my spirit remains positive and I still look forward to each day to see what new the Lord has for me to do.
Currently, I have been spending a lot of time with my hobby known as Amateur Radio; also called Ham Radio. My callsign as issued by the Federal Communications Commission is K4EET and that permits me to legally communicate via two-way radio to other licensees worldwide. Just in the past 24 hours, I have made new friends in Germany, Poland, Slovak Republic and Lithuania as well as several stations in the US.
One new friend in the US whom I met 2 days ago and have already talked to twice since then works at RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa Oklahoma. Please keep Bob and his wife, Cindy, lifted in prayer. Cindy is undergoing chemo treatments for cancer. Like Cindy, I have a "terminal" diagnosis but know that we serve a very big God and nothing is impossible with Him. Bob and I have had heartwarming discussions via radio. God is so good!
Sooooooo... Please do keep me in your prayers but know that I am alive and (literally) pushing onward. My time is limited each day as to what I can accomplish which is the reason for declined activity here. If any of you all are ham radio operators and want to chat via radio, drop me a note and we'll try to connect with you. I am also looking for a missionary "net" on ham radio. There are several that support overseas missionaries with communications to remote areas of the world without telephone service. I enjoy handling health and welfare messages for our overseas missionaries.
God bless you all and again, thanks for staying in touch with me and keeping me in your prayers. I greatly enjoy seeing your comments here and receiving E-mails from you all. Blessings to all!
In His Love,
Dave
