About Me

I am ADDICTED to learning anything new... my wife (and me, mostly) believes that I have a private galaxy inside my head, where I am most comfortable. Love books (so much that it gives me a kick just to look at books!) I don't think I'll survive one day without my wife and kids - three daughters - all "A-D-D" like daddy. (Maybe I'll survive but I don't want to.) The only drink better than Stoney Gingerbeer is a Starbucks Venti Late with Cinnamon powdered on the foam. The only meat better than pork-neck steak is crispy roasted Eisbein. The only thing better than reading a good book is sleeping with the book on your chest. The only thing better than loving someone or something is being passionate about someone or something. The only thing better than knowing Jesus is not having to perform for Him.

My biggest struggle at this stage: how to accommodate the institutional church within the Kingdom of God...

My biggest joy at this stage: seeing some of my dreams come true, regarding my calling and ministry...

Interests

Books, gardening (but only in my own garden), joking with my kids, books, listening to and learning from someone wise (like Stephan, Erwin, Dup... or you!), observing people as they do life stuff, books, searching for more of Jesus outside the institution, trying to show people that Jesus is alive in the real world and not in the institution. Did I mention books?

Movies

The Departed; Devils Advocate, There is something about Mary; Meet Joe Black, Shawshank Redemption, Babettes Feast, So I married an axe murderer; Chocolat, Father of the Bride (it scares me as a father of girls!!), Click; The Matrix 1; Rocky 1; The Story of Us; Three Weddings and a Funeral (especially the funeral!); Green Card; Fargo.

Music

Anything by Leonard Cohen; Rod Steward; ddisselblom; Pink Floyd (when Roger Waters was still part); most good hits from the 80's. Classics with a piano or a cello. Jazz with a saxophone.
