About Me

My Family

I grew up in Bakersfield, California in a family of 7. I am the oldest of my 4 siblings- 3 brothers, 1 sister. I got married to my wonderful husband, Blaise, right after high school during the summer of 2003, and we had our first child, Rebekah in May 2004. I was officially crowned a mother on Mother's Day, as a matter of fact. After we moved to Washington to help start a church in December of 2005, we welcomed our son Aaron in February of 2006. We love life in the country here in Blaine, WA. I am a stay-at-home mom but I keep quite busy managing my family, 2 horses (Arabians-Saranayd and CA Tchalets Folly or, as we call them, Serenade and Shelly), and the continuing development of our property (roughly 4.5 acres with pond and multiple creeks) and the church.

I am anxiously anticipating being able to build our house this year, as we have been living in a fifth-wheel trailer for nearly two years while getting our septic system in place and our well drilled. The road has not been easy, but God has shown Himself faithful to provide for us and I trust He will continue to as we follow Him. I am blessed to have such wonderful and supportive family and friends both here and elsewhere who I know love me and my family and pray for us regularly.

 

My Ministry

I enjoy serving God in whatever capacity He calls me to. Currently, my husband and I are over the church youth group, Signet Youth. I also sing and play keyboard for the worship team and I am the editor for our church bulletin. It has been a year now since I founded a ministry called Beauty for Ashes. Its mission statement is as follows: Through the emotional and sensory experience of spa-like services and enriching children’s activities we will nurture women and children who are dear to the Lord’s heart to make them feel beautiful, valued, and precious in the sight of God, just as they are, amidst their brokenness. Our main outreach is to our local women's and children's shelter. I also enjoy teaching the Word of God when given opportunity and am an emerging writer and songwriter.

Movies
I am known to be quite picky when it comes to movies... I make it a point to scour movies on different review websites to make sure they are appropriate. My philosophy is pretty much based upon Philippians 4:8 which says, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." I basically don't want to be watching anything that I wouldn't want the Lord to be sitting next to me watching. Besides, with as often as I actually get to sit down and watch a movie (and yes, at home, since we hardly ever go out to the movies) it better be one worth watching anyway. :-)
Music
I LOVE worship music- it is one of my passions. One of my favorite things, and now my kids' favorite too, has been to crank it up nice and loud in the car and sing to my heart's content. My kids even remind me sometimes when they hear a song they like- "Rock out, Mom, rock out!" One of the most amazing things is to hear them sing worship songs and to know that they know they are singing to Jesus. I guess that must be a glimpse of what the Father's heart must feel like when He hears us sing to Him from our hearts. :-)
Books
I really enjoy reading but don't have too much time to do it unfortunately. I enjoy books that challenge me as a mom, wife, and woman of God and that help me to dive deeper into God's Word and in my understanding of His character.

yeah i chopped it like a month ago now...im still getting used to it though...i was growing it out but i was bored of waiting so i had sandy chop it when she was in town...but yeah the leg remains the same for the most part...its definitley not as bad but it gets really sore and stiff i guess you could say on some days that i use it more....more so now since i started working out again =)

Well If God allows us, we are going to move back into "the house"! When we came in last week for a visit in Bako, we stopped by the house first. I cried it was so good to see the house again, and then...if God decides to bless us with it as home again...I just might cry again!! We hated to leave it the first time, but God said go..so ...like a leaf blowing in the wind..guided by the breath of God ...we went!! And it looks as if the wind has changed directions again in our lives. Trevor got a great job.As a matter of fact he is still in Bako..while I am here in TN..packing up the house. I have 8 more days to have the ENTIRE house packed up..Yea right!! But..I guess its one box at a time!! So how are the babies..you..Blaise?? I can't believe all my girls are married and/or mommies!! Man to I feel old!! Ok well its late here and we are in the middle of yet another storm..so I better cut it short..love and miss y'all!!!
