My Family
I grew up in Bakersfield, California in
a family of 7. I am the oldest of my 4 siblings- 3 brothers, 1 sister.
I got married to my wonderful husband, Blaise, right after high school
during the summer of 2003, and we had our first child, Rebekah in May
2004. I was officially crowned a mother on Mother's Day, as a matter of
fact. After we moved to Washington to help start a church in December
of 2005, we welcomed our son Aaron in February of 2006. We love life in
the country here in Blaine, WA. I am a stay-at-home mom but I keep
quite busy managing my family, 2 horses (Arabians-Saranayd and CA
Tchalets Folly or, as we call them, Serenade and Shelly), and the
continuing development of our property (roughly 4.5 acres with pond and
multiple creeks) and the church. I am anxiously anticipating being able to build our house this year, as
we have been living in a fifth-wheel trailer for nearly two years while
getting our septic system in place and our well drilled. The road has
not been easy, but God has shown Himself faithful to provide for us and
I trust He will continue to as we follow Him. I am blessed to have such
wonderful and supportive family and friends both here and elsewhere who
I know love me and my family and pray for us regularly.
My Ministry I
enjoy serving God in whatever capacity He calls me to. Currently, my
husband and I are over the church youth group, Signet Youth. I also
sing and play keyboard for the worship team and I am the editor for our
church bulletin. It has been a year now since I founded a ministry
called Beauty for Ashes. Its mission statement is as follows: Through
the emotional and sensory experience of spa-like services and enriching
children’s activities we will nurture women and children who are dear
to the Lord’s heart to make them feel beautiful, valued, and precious
in the sight of God, just as they are, amidst their brokenness. Our
main outreach is to our local women's and children's shelter. I also
enjoy teaching the Word of God when given opportunity and am an
emerging writer and songwriter. My life verse: "Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"
-Luke 1:45 (NIV)
