The verse below really made me do a double take. On the surface, it's easy to say that I do not deny that Jesus is the Christ. I go to church, read the Word, pray, etc., just as a good Christian man ought to. Based on a quick read of the verse, I'm in the clear, right?
..or am I?
While my words indicate that I acknowledge Christ as the Son of the Father, too often my actions speak at a higher volume, and they reek of anti-christian characteristics.
When I worry, I directly disobey Jesus' words to be at peace.
When I let fear paralyze me, I put more faith in fear than I do in His words, "fear not."
Whenever I belittle my wife and her actions, I belittle the command to love my wife as Christ loves the Church.
It is easy to be anti-christian without knowing it, right? I'm not talking about condemnation or losing salvation and stuff, but I do own up to the fact that my actions often times deny Christ's position as Son, and Lord of my life.
I am encouraged today to believe in him, acknowledge his Son-ship and Lordship, and walk as He would want me to walk.
I encourage you, the reader to do the same.
Remain blessed.
- Giovanni
2:22Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

The verse below is a reminder that we are never alone.
The Bible also says in Proverbs that to fear the Lord is Wisdom.
Looks like it pays to be wise, huh?
Be blessed everyone.
..and fear not, for God is with YOU.
- Giovanni
34:8 \34:7\The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

I looked at the bible verse for the day, and it reminded me of how important is is for me to be diligent in practicing self-control, in other words, self-discipline.
It's entirely to easy to get distracted by the desires brought about by our own nature. Add to that the stimulus received from sources like TV, the radio (whether FM or satellite), and this thing called the internet, and it is no wonder why we miss the mark on a daily basis.
I'm as guilty as the next brother of allowing outside stimulus to steer me of my daily course, but, it is no excuse to allow it to persist.
I encourage every man, woman, or child reading this blog post to really ask themselves if what they are currently doing is drawing them closer to or further from the course set they've set.
Have you been diligent about fortifying the walls around your city, or are the invaders looting you of your dreams, desires, and resources.
Here's to being men and women of God strong in self-control and battle-ready at all times.
Blessings.
- Giovanni
25:28 A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

If you live, work, or play in or near DC, please make plans to join other believers at the National Day of Prayer gathering on Tursday, May 1.
The NDP Celebration features a multi-racial, multi-cultural gathering at the U.S. Capitol. More specifically, it is a cross-cultural annual event of worship, repentance, supplication and celebration of the Church's unity.
It is a unique occasion that has occurred consistently since 1984! It is a visible expression of corporate identity when the many-membered Body of Christ is united with Christians representing all of the World's continents, the suburbs, the inner city, and members of store-front and mega-sized congregations all gathering as one on the lawn of the Capitol building to symbolize and proclaim the sovereignty of Christ over the city, Nation and humanity.

Blessings!

(Blogger's note: As i was reading the "going to hell for $1.17" blog this morning, for some reason, the song "where have all the cowboys gone" popped in my head, and it triggered a subject line for my "I'm Back" blog. I beg your forgiveness if the mentioning of the song caused you to backslide, or go hunting for cowboys (who by the way, STILL can't hold a candle to my Redskins!!!) ;p)
I'm back, everyone. It had been a while since I'd posted anything more than a memo and/or some blog comments.
My sister and many others (okay, just my sister) had wondered where I had been. To appease her and to make myself relevant again, I decided to post again today.
I'm not making promises to be on here on an hourly basis, nor on a dialy basis even. For that matter, I might just disappear into "bolivian" (as Mike Tyson once said), but either way, i want you all to know that you are in my heart, and I care so much about you.
That's it for now. Thanks for taking time to read. Thanks in advance, too, for the stars.
- Gio
P.S. The answer to the question in the subject line is: to mychurch.org. Take that myspace and co.!!! ;)
