About Me

I am Paul Lama. I was born and brought up into a Christian home. Prior to coming to a Christian faith my parents followed Buddhism. They lived in a remote place called dhading district which is about 200 km north of Kathmandu. There was no proper road to our place so life there was very difficult. So my parents decided to move to a place closer to the center. After a long search they decided to settle down in Gorkha. After moving there the life became little comfortable.

Soon after they moved to that place, my mother fell in severe sickness. No one could figure out what kind of sickness she had but she was losing her weight dramatically. My father did all he could. He spent almost all of his earthly possession in buying things for sacrifices but it was only of a waste. Her health grew even worse. In this situation of hopelessness, he remembered of his cousin brother who was a Christian and had migrated there. One day he requested his brother to pray for my mother in the name of his God. So he prayed for my mother in the name of Lord Jesus. To his amazement after the prayer my mother started getting better and eventually she was completely healed. Praise the Lord this was the turning point of our family.

When I was born my parents including my brothers and sisters were already a Christian. So I had an opportunity to grow up in a Christian environment. I took part in any of the church activities since childhood. I learned a lot about our savior but I did not understand what that was all about. I looked Christian outwardly but inner part of my life I was not. During my adolescent year I felt I was lost and hopeless. There was a moment in my life that I felt was helpless and needy spiritually. At that situation of hopelessness, I began to search him in his word. As I began to seriously search in His word and I found out that he loved me no matter what my life was like. So I confessed all my sins and received him as my personal savior and Lord. After accepting Jesus in my life I began to experience complete joy and peace in my life. I began to see life differently. Now I was courageous, happy, man outwardly as well as inwardly. I began to think that I can do something for Lord Jesus. My faith continues to grow as I actively attend church services and bible studies. So at the age of 16 in 1998 I took a baptism.

Later on, I also got opportunities to attend short term trainings. Lord has helped me in all the area of my life. He gave me opportunity to involve in His ministry too. As I grew stronger in Jesus a desire of serving him fulltime began to grow. I started off serving him with my church first. I led youth group and led a worship team in my church which helped me to cultivate a hunger to work more for him.

I believe in the call of God and also believe everybody those who are in the ministry must have a call from God. Jesus began to dwell in my life after accepting him as my personal savior. He began to bring His kingdom in my life, the kingdom of love and compassion. Then I did DTS (Discipleship Training School) and join YWAM and from that time onwards I am serving God as a full time worker in His vineyard. And, I also believe that God has called me to work in his ministry first as his follower and secondly as disciple maker

Praise God!

Hi gongba, I have had a busy week.  We had a wedding at our church this week and I was in charge of the reception.  It went very well.  I'm having a problem with my eye and would appreciate your prayers.  I pray the Lord is blessing you in your ministry.  Have a great week.

Hi I am feeling much better.  Even did a little yard work yesterday and today.  Prayers are soooo powerful thank you. I had a freind request from Carebear.  She is so pretty.  I sent her a message and took her as afriend.  I have friends and family in CA so she and I will have to see if she is close to any of those areas. Thousand Oaks and Sacremento.  I will have to mention to her about these cities.

Hope you are okay.  How is all your family?  Tell me more about your family.  I had no sisters and my only brother died when he was twelve and I was ten.  So I grew up an only child. Sometimes I really wish I had brothers and sisters.. now I do.  Well in your and Carebears case it would be sons and daughters.  I am old enough to be your parent.

Got to go to bed.  It is 10:30pm here I am going to go mow the grounds at our church tomorrow, so I need to get some rest.  God love you, Jan

Hi things are fine here if I would quit damaging my body.  Took a fall backwards while working with a wheel barrel full of dirt.  Lifted some heavy stuff and pulled a muscle but I will be alright.  Just getting too old for all that I do.  love to work outside but I will have to learn I am not as young as I think. Ha

It is raining here so I am sewing a new jacket. Found some pants to match the material that I am using.  I find different tyes of material and then build a wardrobe around the fabric (jacket)..

Have a painting that I need to get started on also...not enough time in the days.

Glad you are fine.  Wish we could afford to visit you and your country one of these days.  I bet it is beautiful.  maybe God will grant us a way someday.  God bless,   Jan

Hi Paul.  Thanks for writing.  I don't know if you have heard about the shootings yesterday at Virginia Tech University.  33 people were killed by one unstable man.  This university is not very far from us and we know people there.  This is a difficult time for our nation.  Please pray for us.  I trust you are doing well.  Keep sharing the love of Christ with your people.  Bless you.
