"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe...all the believers were together and had everything in common". Acts 2:42-44 NIV
Worship is more than just closing our eyes in the presence of God on Sunday mornings. It is the very expression of our lives before a Holy God. Romans 12:1-2 says that we should offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. This is our spiritual act of worship. We come together together on Sundays and Wednesdays to participate in worship together, but we continue worshipping throughout the week as we seek to live the lives that God has called us to live.
There is no greater joy than seeing the birth of a person into the Kingdom of God. It is our desire to make evangelism not just an activity that we participate in, but an expression of our lives as well. Every encounter with this world is an opportunity to share the love of Jesus. Every person is a creation of our father in heaven. He loves us deeply and desires to see us enter into a relationship with Him. As Christians we have the privilege of sharing in that decision.
It is our desire to live out the picture that is painted in the book of Acts. The body of Christ was together and of one heart and mind. This can only be accomplished through the work of the Holy Spirit and the willingness of the Body to come together in love as we fellowship, minister to one another, encourage one another and meet one another's needs.
Growth is important in the Body of Christ. Just as a newborn baby enters the world and then is fed and nourished in order for it to grow, so too we enter into a relationship with Christ and need spiritual food and nourishment in order to grow. Decipleship grows out of the accountability that is developed through fellowship. It is the desire of this Body to provide opportunities to challenge one another to grow in the unity and strength of the Lord.
Love is foundational to the Body of Christ. Needs are real. Meeting people's needs comes out of the overflow of what God is doing in our own lives. When we are touched by God we cannot help but to turn around and touch the lives of people around us.
