Excuses of Lost people and scriptures to use in dealing with them
By||November 15, 2007

Here are just five excuses lost people make for not comming to christ. can you think of anymore and Scripture to show them to clear the matter?

"I can't live it"
4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Point out to the person that they are not saved by living it, but believing it. They will be able to live it better after they are saved.
4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  " I'm already a church member"
2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Point out that only those who are saved should join churches. No one should join a church until they are saved.

" I'm not so bad."
5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Emphasize the fact that it is not how bad a person is which sends him to hell, but all are sinners and under the curse of death.

" I am living a pretty good life."

8:46 If they sin against thee, (for [there is] no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

Remind the person that there is no one that does'nt sin. Everybody is a sinner, and everybody must be saved in order to go to Heaven.

" I am to sinful."
1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

You must show them  that the love of Jesus Christ is offered to all no matter how sinful, and that he saves everyone who believes in him.

Thanks Keith; this is gonna be printer worthy I can see the need for a local evangalism cell group of sorts to help the conversationally challenged. I'm not at all ashamed of Christ, I just have a lot to learn about socializing in general. I can do what I can as it's a commandment I just think I'll be more successful as I learn to deal with people better.

Keith-good stuff. I have found that if you ask sinners "Why should God let you into heaven?", 90% answer because I am pretty good. Just like a swimmer in the dangerous oceans, they wont grab for the lifeboat until they see the sharks and waves getting ready to crash on them. We must help people see their need(sin) and then they will run to the Savior. Right now, most Americans think they are just doing the backstoke though life.
