Carol and I recently went through and whittled down the membership of the Volunteer's Club Group, from 35+ down to about 15. And we still have lots of people who are asking to join this group... we haven't responded to most of those requests yet. If you were one of the folks who we removed from the group, please don't take it personally. We were in a transition point in figuring out what a MyChurch Volunteer means... now I think we know what that is. Having that MyChurch Volunteer badge on your profile means you represent the MyChurch staff. People come to you for issues and questions, and you can help them. We're proud of what you write and how you showcase your faith online. And we want others in the community to follow your example. You care about MyChurch, and want to make it better. You make people (especially new people) feel welcome and good about being here. Everyone in this group is invaluable to keeping the community a blessing and encouragement. Thank you. Many of you have also mentored, prayed for, or expressed concern for Carol and my well-being. Thank you. We'd like to empower more volunteers to serve with specific tasks for the site. Sue, PastorDatm, Pastor Tim, and Pastor Dave have specific tasks and areas of ownership. Now I'm looking for a couple new folks who also want to help out on specific things. Here's my wishlist: - You're inquisitive and resourceful. You want to learn about the various things we do behind the scenes, and you think you can make our processes better.
- You have time. You consistently have 4-5 hours a week that you can work on MyChurch. You also have time for a bi-monthly meeting with myself or Carol
- You have good judgement. You can decide if a profile needs to be deleted or if a reported message or blog needs to be quarantined.
The pay is great. It's the same monthly salary that Carol and I have been getting for the past 2 years ;) Let me know if you're interested. If you're not part of this group already, please shoot me a mail.
Thanks, Joe
