Life Transformation Groups
Basic level of the community. 2 or 3 of the same gender meet weekly, focus on mutual accountability, Bible, prayer, accountability.
No set leader. No explicit structure. Each group develops its own culture.
Goal = increase in wisdom/spiritual maturity/multiply disciples.
When the group grows beyond four the group will split into smaller groups. Accountability: Most intimidating part. Accountability questions help resist the next time when faced with temptation. Character
Conversation Questions = Stimulate conversation of character and
confession of sin in a safe environment which values honesty,
vulnerability, confidentiality and grace. 1. How have you experienced God’s presence in your life this
past week? Have you expressed the presence of God in your life to
others this week? 2. Have you been exposed to sexually alluring material or
allowed your mind to entertain inappropriate sexual thoughts about
another this week? 3. Have you lacked integrity in your financial dealings or desired something that does not belong to you?
4. Have you invested the proper quality/quantity of time in your
most important relationships, being honoring, understanding and
generous in them? 5. Have you damaged another person by your words, either behind their back or face-to-face?
6. Have you given in to an addictive behavior this past week? Explain.
7. Have you continued to remain angry toward another or secretly wished for another’s misfortune so that you might excel?

Prayer Focus Prayer: Pray for those who are not living as disciples of
Jesus Christ that they will share the hope we have. Strategic Prayer Focus Identify a couple folks I feel led to pray for that are not yet disciples of Jesus Christ. All pray for each person weekly. Remember to pray for each other. Here are some suggested ways to pray for others:
1. Lord, lift the veil from _________’s eyes so that s/he may ‘see the
light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ’ and come to know
you. (1 Corinthians 4:4) 2. Lord, ‘demolish arguments and every pretension that sets
itself up against the knowledge of God’ in __________’s life, and ‘take
captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.’ (2 Corinthians
10:4,5) 3. Holy Spirit, hover around ___________ and envelop
__________ in your grace and love. Pour Yourself over ___________ so
that strongholds would be broken and s/he would come to believe in
Christ. (Acts 2:17-21) 4. Lord of the Harvest, ‘send workers out into your harvest field,’ and use me where you desire. (Matthew 9:38 |
