There's no about "ME" when you are a part of a family, you know! My husband, Andy, and I have been married for 8 years. We have two sweet girls, Hannah, 3 Abigail, 8 months. Andy has two sons from a previous marriage - Josh, 20 and Michael, 22 who live in Tidewater and attend Old Dominion Univeristy. I am loving being a stay-at-home mom, although its required some major lifestyle changes (I'll blog that later), but has been well worth it. Before Hannah was born I worked for Virginia Beach Public Schools as a School Social Worker for 6 years. Andy was a Building Inspector in Virginia Beach and before that, owned his own Pest Control/Construction business.
Our family moved to Alleghany County in February 2007 after Andy accepted a position as a Building Inspector with the county (more on that later). Before we even decided to move, we prayed that God would lead us to a church...and here we are at Faith Baptist (more later on that, too!).
We are originally from Tidewater, Virginia - you may know it as Hampton Roads. Andy was born and raised in Chesapeake, and I in Norfolk. Our lives were spinning out of control in their own orbits until we chanced (yeah, RIGHT) to meet at the Super-K-Mart in Norfolk. He was a policeman and I was in at 10:30PM stocking up on my Depression Diet items...you know, Greek salad fixins' and Ho-Ho's (you did know about that diet, right?). If anyone asks, I'd be glad to tell y'all how we met, but for now suffice to say that it was NOT love at first sight (for me,anyways), but that very night I knew we'd always be together....mmm.....
Enough about me (us!). Glad to be here, and I am looking forward to blogging and sharing with you the AMAZING ways God has been evident in my (our) life, His Goodness, His Answered Prayer, and His Perfect Peace.
Thank you for reading about me!
Romans 5:8&9 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
Whoa!! Wrap your mind around THAT! | | Interests My wonderful family, Christian living, country living, paper crafts (card making, someday scrapbooking), camping, cooking, photography, reading, jewelry making, frugal living, birdwatching, scenic drives, long walks (not exactly hiking - just enjoying creation with my husband and kids), sewing (beginner +), fishing.... | MoviesPretty much any musical, most documentaries, family stuff that I don't have to be embarassed to watch with anyone! | MusicHave to say that music is not huge for me, and my secular music collection outweighs my Christian music selection - chalk it up to BMG music club and throwing money to the wind back when I had a weekly paycheck and to much wasted time! | BooksI wish I had more time to read! | | Television The reception with rabbit ears on the ole TV is fair to poor, allowing only a very grainy ABC on a good day and maybe a cloudy peek at NBC if there are sunspots or something. We don't have cable or sattelite, although we stay connected through the Internet. I confess a weakness for LOST (bring back Charlie!), which we watch online. Of course I sit through a daily barrage of Barney and Sesame Street, both taped by Hannah's grandfather and brought on his monthly visits, but that's the extent of our television watching! |

Heidi, praise God for Christian families! Keep up the blessed work of Christ by nourishing your family...seeking God's will in your life... I know sometimes it can get hard to do...take it from me...a mother of grown sons and a grandmother too...stick to your Christian values...and God does hear...and God will bless! He doesn't forget His children....
Have a happy day...
