Hello, My name is Helen. I am a public school teacher at a middle school. Most importantly, I am a Christian who believes deeply in the bible. I don't always relate to all people who call themselves Christian, because the word "christian" is sooo misused. So please don't label me.
Being a Christian should never be about the "don'ts and the do's) or about what political party you belong to. It is not about hating groups or certain types of people. It's about looking within and "cleaning house" and working on our self to remove hate, prejudices, and other evils that may hide deeply within...etc.through faith in the power and love of Christ. It's about a love walk.
I believe that a true Christian is a person who is far from perfect but has a heart to aspire to a higher level of living through his/her faith. A true Christian cares for all people regardless of who they are or what they believe, but without compromise. It is important to live the life of Christ and not the life of selfishness and materialism. It is important to look beyond the faults to see the need. A mature Christian cares about the bigger picture, the purpose, and the focus is on God's will. It is a spiritual walk of honesty and humbleness. Our natural ways fall short, but God's grace is sufficient for all who seek after Him.
I strongly believe that a true Christian walk requires a personal relationship of prayer and a life that seeks to be led by the Spirit of God. If there aren't any fruits of repentance, a changed person, bearing fruit of the spirit, then I would have to question if you have been born-again. Being born-again is being a transformed creation by the power and mercy of God because you turned away from sin unto Christ in faith, from the HEART! A true conversion produces fruit and change.
If there is no change or fruit, perhaps you need to seek God with all your heart and repent. The spirit of God is able to help you to humble yourself through godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and faith. Make sure you are not following people or emotion but rather the master and creator of this universe. Take off selfishness, pride, haughtiness, and put on Christ.
Now it is all about Him...His will...His purpose...as we become His servant.

Dear Helen, please pray for me as I dare to share His Holy Word again this Sunday on the Topic, “Passing through dark valleys”. Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. Have a Blessed Week-end “when we were headed in the wrong direction, thank God, He allows U-Turns. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. Ps 119:16 (NRSV)
