A blog is an online journal that is quick and easy to update.
Bloggers write about anything and everything, from prayer journaling to posting pictures of their camping trip. Share your blog posts with everyone, just your church, or keep it completely private.
Insert Bible verses directly into your blog. Your readers can click through to the actual reference chapter in the Bible.
All public blogs that contain passages get a little yellow Bible icon and are placed in the Bible blogs page. Here, you can browse for what bloggers are saying about different books of the Bible. Be inspired and encouraged by reading Bible blogs, or write your own to share God’s word!
Share what you’ve been reading, watching, or listening to. Insert Books, Music, and Movie covers right onto your blog. Click on the icons circled below to drag and drop cover images into your blog post.
A picture is worth a thousand words. To add a picture to your post from your blog editor, just click on the little Tree button (at the far right of the editor controls) and enter in the URL of the image.
Note: the image has to be hosted on a website somewhere, like flickr, photobucket, or your MyChurch photo gallery.
Bloggers love comments. You can put Bible verses and pictures in your comment. You can also click the ‘Notify me of follow up comments via e-mail’ which will shoot you an email notice if there is new discussion on a blog that you commented on.
Some bloggers only allow comments from friends. So if the blog comment editor is missing, you'll have to ask to be their friend first!
And yes, you can leave a comment on your own blog :)
In addition to comments, bloggers love stars too. Stars are a way to let the blogger know that you appreciated her blog.
Click on the stars to give the blogger a star. Blogs that have a lot of stars get archived in the Popular Blogs section. Your starred blogs also act as “bookmarks” for you to keep tabs on which blogs you liked. Go to your subscriptions page (from your home page), and switch over to the ‘Starred Blogs’ tab:
There is one thing that is more loved by bloggers than comments or stars… subscribers. If you found a blogger whose posts you want to follow, you can subscribe to their blog:
