Joel was born on January 10th 1979 in Wilson, North Carolina and raised there in a godly home by Michael and Sharon Killion. In obedience to the Word of the Lord to his mother, he and his younger brother, Tyler, were brought "into the ark" and home-schooled until their graduation from high school.
At the age of four, Joel walked in on his mother as she was spending time, prayerfully, with the Lord. He noticed she was crying and asked her if she was sad, but she assured him that she was happy because she just loved Jesus so much. This deeply impacted Joel; so much so that he gave his life to Christ. Then, about a year or so later, he was baptized in the Holy Spirit.
As he grew up, he received many dreams, visions and personal visitations from angels, demons and even, on one occasion, the Lord Himself. As a result, he became increasingly aware and sensitive to the spiritual, supernatural realms.
After completing high school, Joel enrolled as a student at the MorningStar School of Ministry (MSM) in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated from their two-year program with a certificate in Biblical Studies and Practical Ministries. MSM equipped him with a greater appreciation for and understanding of the gifts, fruits and ministries of the Holy Spirit and the supernatural realm.
In the Fall of 1998, while Joel was in his 2nd year at MSM, he founded Inner Life Ministries.
Inner Life Ministries is a literary, prophetic-teaching ministry focused upon the "deeper life" message. Its measured purpose is to be a multi-faceted resource to the universal Body of Christ, providing "meat in due season" to those who are desperate for spiritual life and substance.
In 2006, Joel was ordained as a minister by Wade E. Taylor of Parousia Ministerial Fellowship.
In February of 2007, Joel founded FrontLines School of the Spirit (FSOS), which is dedicated to restoring, equipping and launching the saints, according to the Biblical mandate of Ephesians 4:11-16.
Joel’s overall ministerial vision is to see the Body of Christ come into full maturity, which is nothing less than the exact likeness and image of Jesus Christ, demonstrating His nature and ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16 & John 14:12).
Joel and His wife Lauren presently reside in Wilson, North Carolina with their three beautiful daughters, Moriah, Kathryn & Olivia.

| Interests Personally, I find that my primary outlet for R&R is writing and reading. I write "deeper life" articles that are both prophetic and devotional in nature. I am presently working on a book that I hope to release by the end of 2009 - the book will be about Jesus as He really was and is as our example in life.
