My given name is Barbara Ann but I was given the nickname Bobbi when I was in the 9th grade by my spanish teacher...we had 5 Barbara's in that class.  The other Barbara's thought Bobbi was a boys name and decided they didn't want it so the teacher looked over to me and said, "You're Bobbi!" and that's how it stuck.  I actually much preferred it to Babs, Barbie or Bertha...lol
I was born in Phoenix, Arizona but moved to Memphis, Tennessee shortly after.  I won't go into all
the moves I've made in my life but I will say I've lived in 8 states and have moved over 70 times in my 59+ years.  My husband calls me his gypsy lady since he was born and raised in the same state and city...he's never gotten around much.  He's moved more with me in 24 years than in his first 28 years.  I think I'm done for awhile...lol...  In all honesty, the real estate I'm looking forward to is out of this world and I do believe my spiritual bags are packed and ready.  I have 6 grown
children, 4 natural and 2 inherited from my marriage to Stephen.  My four are a daughter and 3 sons and Stephen brought 2 sons...so his and mine became ours.  We have 10 grandchildren scattered around and that can keep us busy with visits.  I am married to a fabulous guy...he treats me like a queen and spoils me fabulously.  Our anniversary is on Valentine's Day because he said I would always be his sweetheart.  He even still brings me flowers after all these years.  I am an animal lover...I live with 4 cats, 2 birds and 8 fancy goldfish that keep me busy but I love it.  I teach at our local high school and have been there for over 12 years.  I work with special needs students (9 - 10) graders.  I've been in this field 16 years.  I taught aerobics for 18 years and retired from it in 1994.  I was a dance instructor of ballet and tap in my younger years and taught at 3 different studios.  I was a commuter in my early years going from Napa, Fairfield and St. Helena teaching dance and I loved it.  I have many interests such as reading, making jewelry, sitting in my backyard on my porch swing watching the hummingbirds, dragonflies, butterflies, bees and lizards and keeping my home in order.  I have been walking with the Lord since 1991 and have never looked back.  I never knew my natural father so it was hard for me to accept that I even had a Father in heaven that knew me and loved me with all His heart.  When one has never had the love of a father, it's very hard to accept one you can't see.  What really made me realize I had a Father who did love me was to look back over my life and see all the places He had been with me and how He had brought me through them in one piece.  I realize now how good our God is....and how good He is all the time.  I also realize I am nothing without Him.  I know who I am because of my
Father and that is something very precious to me.  I spent 30 years of my life in an abusive environment...almost 20 of those years in my mother's abusive marriages (3) and almost 10 years in my own 2 abusive marriages.  I honestly for years believed I must have somehow deserved those atrocities although at the same time I would think, what did I do and why is this happening to me?  I grew up unchurched so I didn't know God, but I'd heard of Him...so with all this going on in my life, I figured I must had committed some horrible sin and God was forever punishing me by allowing me to be abused in so many ways.  When I finally found my Father and His son Jesus, oh what a transformation they did in my life!  Now as I look back over my life, I can see the hand of God there.  I have been able to say to my mother, I forgive you and thank you for my past for it has made me the woman that I am today and I thank you Father for allowing me to survive the past and blessing me with the honor of knowing and serving You today.  In my church I have been able to take the gift of dance I was given by my Father and use it for His glory in Praise Dancing.  I have sang in the choir, been on the Worship Team for almost 8 years and enjoyed performing in our churches many productions.  I have served on the Women's Ministry and was awarded a plaque of Faithfulness in all my ministries served.  All that I do for the Lord is for no other reason than to bring honor and glory to HIM!
