Jiles at a Glance: In 1946, Groveland Church of God by Faith originated under the ministry of the late Elder Charlie Jiles and his wife, Ruth, in their home. In the summer of 1948, the services were held in a tent, which was set up next to his home. As the mission grew, Elder Jiles rented a building  across the street from his home to hold the services.  In 1953, the old church from Yalaha was moved to Groveland and set up for services on the land donated to Elder Jiles, for the church, by Mr. Charles Anderson.  Later, Elder Jiles prophesied that a new church would be built and face in the direction of our existing church.

Several pastors served faithfully through the years, and they include: Elder Mack Williams, Elder Pershing Hill, Elder Ludie Wright, Elder Thermon Cox and Elder Collie Roberts.  In 1977, Elder Mose Price came to fulfill that prophesy. In 1981, a new church was dedicated. The church continued to grow under many leaders, and they include: Elder Robert L. Evens, Elder Matakiah Fogle, Elder Charlie Ware, Elder James Stevenson and Dr. James T. Ware, who also serves as the Superintendent of the Ocala District.  Now we are under the pastorialship of Elder Curtis H. Jones, Sr. and his lovely wife, Brenda Jones.

Pastor Curtis Jones and First Lady Brenda Jones began their journey together on April 15, 1978. They have three sons: Corey (Tamara), Curtis Jr. (Latoya) and Chey. They have one granddaughter, Carrissa Brianna.  Pastor Jones was born and raised in the Church of God by Faith (COGBF) in Valdosta, GA where his spiritual journey began under the leadership of Elder Daniel H. Lewis.  This journey continued on to Washington D.C. where he was involved with various projects.  While in the city, he was led to a church called the Angelic Church of God in Christ, which is where he met and married Sis. Jones. God continued to lead them together on their spiritual journey throughout the D.C. area.  In 1996, they were led to return to Valdosta, GA to serve under the leadership of his father and mother, Elder J.C. & Annie Lois Garland, at West Hill COGBF. They operated under various venues across the Georgia District until their call in 2007, to continue their spiritual journey for the up building of the Kingdom of God, at Jiles Memorial COGBF, Groveland, FL.

We are Jiles Memorial COGBF, "The Church Where Love Abides".  But as Pastor Jones often reminds us...

"It's Not About Us, But It's About Jesus!"

Please feel free to stop by and visit us at any of our services!
