About Me
If pictures are worth a thousand words, have a look at the photos on my Flickr site at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/67769842@N00/
Interests
Backpacking, sailing, playing guitar, watching movies, having coffee at Starbucks, spending time with friends and family, and finding creative ways to get the Gospel to the People.
Movies
Honestly? Without trying to pretend that I'm some sort of snobby film critic? OK. How about the Princess Bride, Dave, Amelie, Notting Hill, O Brother Where Art Thou? Napoleon Dynamite, As Good as It Gets, Awakenings, Contact, Rain Man, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Keeping up with the Steins, Much Ado about Nothing, A Fish Called Wanda, Raising Arizona, Castaway, About a Boy, Waking Ned Devine, Romancing the Stone, Antwone Fisher, Phenomenon, Little Miss Sunshine, The Apostle,
Music
Almost everything James Taylor has ever recorded, The Beatles, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Norah Jones, Lyle Lovett, Walt Wilkins, Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman, Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton (unplugged), Stephen Bishop, David Wilcox, Kyle Matthews, and my fave--Billy Somerville. Oh, and my daughter Catherine is trying to drag me into the 21st century by getting me to listen to John Mayer, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, etc. I like her taste in music.
Books
I'm working on a book right now as a matter of fact. I've read three chapters and with any luck I'll finish chapter four this weekend (smile). My ministry has been influenced by writers, teachers, and preachers like Marcus Borg, Walter Brueggemann, Frederick Buechner, Fred Craddock, C. S. Lewis, Anne Lamott, Kathleen Norris, Eugene Peterson, Barbara Brown Taylor and William Willimon
Television
I used to watch "West Wing." Now? Nothing on a regular basis except the occasional Seinfeld re-run.

Hi Jim

Yes I mess you'll at First Baptist on a Sunday morning. The Young Audlt group, The Bible Study and more.

When I join Calvary I was one of the member. Well after time I started to get more and more in taking part of the church. Last year I was sneaking out when Amy away to First Baptist. :) So thing happen last year that was hard for me and the memeber of Calvary. So I stuck it out with Calvary saying I what to be there for the church and pastor. Around August of last two year ago that I miss my first comunion at Calvary. My mother said "Are you going to First Baptist this Sunday." We'll being my mother. "HA! HA! HA! WINK WINK.(that mean I whated to go. I though it was funny that I whated to do what I said I wood not beable to do) " Out of my own brath "We'll I'll take you to First Baptist this Sunday..." YAHOO!!!! My mother enjoyed it. I toke her to bunch a Cafe Luna. My mother enjoy her self.

Time go on around the time my friend needed a month off from church. I was thinking..... We'll I can do thing, that, and the other thing. To make make it short.

I think someone in Sunday School class toke wind of what I was doing in the month of March... Told it the the my friend.. sat down to dinner before Thomas house bible study. Talk about the body of the church. And how a church can get along with or without a person.  My Jaw drop and out of my brath saying "OK... I'll be in Calvary in the month of March...

So this year I became more part of Calvary... It not like last year. It not a trip I can sneak off as I feel. It is not a thing that being part of Calvary family that I can run off any time I feel. Even I just Will. But there other feel other. It was seeing my picture on of Calvary webpage. It is nice. Even I can think of a 100 people wood be better then me.

Now just thinking Now I'm here... What Next???

P.S. I'll be at Thomas House next Wednesday night... I'll miss you'll... Even the Thomas house ask is Will coming tonight... It's like a bastball game. When you step up the plate... the game start... A lot of people need you to keep the bace covert. There more but I don't what to be long winded.

 You're Friend

Will

Pastor, I rarely get a chance to talk with you since we have to go to choir rehearsal right after the service (Lon is such a harsh taskmaster!) but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your sermons. Last Sunday\\\'s sermon on the \\\"Top 40 sayings of Christ\\\" was particularly fascinating. I grew up with the KJV Thompson Chain Reference Bible with the words of Christ printed in red ink. To hear them arranged chronologically as they were in your sermon was very powerful. Hearing you each Sunday is one of the highlights of my week and I just wanted you to know. This new forum is a great place to share the wonderful things going on at FBC with those of us who are there every week as well as the rest of the world. Thanks for your ministry and I hope to get a chance to talk with you in the near future. BTW....Just want to let you know what a blessing Deborah Cochran and Charlotte Straight have been to my family. They have been such a positive constant in Matt and Eric\\\'s lives and I can see there influence everyday. Thanks again. Have a great week. Greg Lowery
