Hi! I am Joni Atkins, native of Huntsville, Alabama. I'm very happily married to my soulmate, Darin Atkins, native of Scottsboro, Alabama, and we have two wonderful sons, Calon and Dillon. Darin is a Mechanical Designer at American Alloy Fabrication, Dillon's racing career mgr and no.1 fan, and an entrepreneur at heart. Calon, our oldest, is all into mini-truckin, and Dillon, is a motorcycle racer and drummer. These three guys are the best!!
I 've just started homeschooling Dillon through highschool, because with racing, he misses too much school and they don't like that. I am also, a Christian rock singer/songwriter, and sketch artist. My MySpace and ShoutLife pages(links below) tell more of why I do what I do, but I just want to say, if it were not for the grace, love, forgiveness, and mercy of Jesus Christ, I wouldn't have been here by now, but, thanks totally to Him, I'm not only here, I'm majorly blessed & filled with His joy!

| InterestsJesus, being in His presence, my family, my church, singing, songwriting, getting the Good News out to people and letting them know about the spiritual warfare we all battle in, drawing, Dillon's motorcycle racing, my pets: 2 cats-Smowy & Salem, 1 dog-Siberian Husky named Icy, and 1 Chinchilla named Furby (I'd have many more animals, but Darin wont' let me, boo!!!!) I love all animals, computers, riding horses (Palominos are my fav), snow, snow skiing, ice skating, Starbucks cinnamon/mocha latte-decaf, the color pink, daisies, hyacinths, gardenias, pink roses, swimming, Cajun Cafe's boiled shrimp-crawfish-and boiled peanuts, the beach and ocean, butterflies, going on my birthday date to Mikato's every year, the mountains, Iced Java mocha lattes, jet skiis and boats, going on walks with Darin or walking through Bridge Street with him, hangin out by the pool, cool/cold weather, Christmas time, time at home with my family, Fall and the beginning of Spring, shopping at Target (only ones with Starbucks in them though), band rehearsal, to name a few
| MoviesI love movies that make me think, make me laugh, ones about supernatural things, sci-fi, lots of different movie types, really. I don't like movies that are really sad. I don't mind scarey, as long as it's not slasher movies like the Friday the 13th and Halloween type movies, and stuff, don't like them.
| MusicFor some reason I can't get EOWYN to show up, but I just love her, and I also like several other indie bands that you can't find in the search, including...MINE! :)

| BooksMy fav Bible version is The Message which I can't get the pic to show up on here for some reason. I've also read somewhere around 100 books on Christian living, Spiritual Warfare, Christian marriage, and raising children, etc. I'm obviously big into Christian self-help books but Chronicles of Narnia always has a special place, I've read the whole set probably five times since I was a little girl.I know my Yada Yada Book Club friends think I never read a book, because I keep not reading the ones we are discussing, lol, but it's just that right now, I'm caught up in my music and art and they take up the time I might be reading. But, I just love my Yada Yada sisters all so much, I come to the book club anyway and join in where I can. :)
| TelevisionThanks to the convenience of TiVo I watch the following: CSI, CSI: Miami (don't like CSI: New York), Bones, Ghost Whisperer, Supernatural, Reaper, Hannah Montana, American Idol, George Lopez, Sabrina, Frasier, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Wizards of Waverly Place, Ghost Hunters, Psych, Sarah Connor's Chronicles, Trick My Truck, many, many, many...motorcycle races, MonsterQuest, several interesting things on the Discovery Channel, and History and Science Channels. I liked Life and Jericho till they canned them. :p

Hey Girl! Yes, I was busy trying to get all those Children's Choir dates on the calendar! We need to be ready to go full force! Ha! Maybe I can try to squeeze in Thursday AM rehearsals if I'm not subbing. I sure do enjoy hanging out with all of you and it wouldn't hurt me to make a joyful "noise"! See ya Sunday!

Ok, now you are going to make me cry...Your comment touched my heart very much!!! Joni, you are very talented and you sing with heart...I have heard a lot of Christian singers that sing good, but you allow God's Spirit to sing through you and that is evident...I want to say too that our church is blessed with a good choir...Also, with Sharon Keffer...She is an amazing lady too and she puts her all into what she does as well...If you and Sharon could just bottle and sell what you have. :) Seriously, you two are wonderful and there are some other wonderful singers in our church that I could list...We are blessed!!! Joni, please don't ever doubt for one minute your gifts and calling of God...God's Word says that His gifts and calling are without repentance...That means that He never takes back what He has given you and He is never sorry that He gave you those gifts...Use the gifts He has given, bless others, and be blessed!!! It pleases God so much to know that His children appreciate the gifts that He gives...Something we must never forget though is that God's Word also says, "To whom much is given, much is required."...You are giving above and beyond that and God must have such a warm spot in His heart as He looks on you and says proudly, "She is mine!"
Joni, us Jacksons love you and your family too...We feel blessed to be a part of our church and to be a part of so many good and godly people...God is good!!!

Joni, you are a very talented lady, but there is more to it than talent alone...You have the Spirit of our Lord and Savior within you and when you sing, we know it is welling up from within you...That living water that Pastor Scott talked about yesterday...I agree with you Joni...The choir really blessed me yesterday...Also Pastor Scott's message was wonderful too...God amazes me how He uses people, music, preaching, and you name it, to bless us...God truly is awesome!!! Thanks again for allowing God to move through you, for your obedience to His Spirit...You are a blessing Joni and our church is blessed to have you and your talent...Besides all that, we love you too!!!

Thank you Joni. I haven't done what I was assigned before so I felt I should come in when it would be quiet and I could think, draw on the white board - whatever without distractions. I think I have a start on what I need to do now so I am going home. :-) I may try to come in early in the morning to get another jump start on the deadline. I appreciate your prayers. I am praying for you too.
