It is nearly impossible for us to believe that today we celebrate Zachary?s first birthday. I don?t think either one of us has ever been more afraid than we were this time last year, but amazingly it was a time when we were never more sure of the real presence of God in our lives. Each day when we look at our little guy we count him among our greatest blessings. He is a miracle in our lives and through him God has brought us immeasurable hope. Life changed forever for us on this day last year, and things are about to change again. We are getting ready to move to Charlotte North Carolina to begin the journey of planting a new church community in the SE part of the city. Thank you for the many prayers. I?m not sure we will ever be able to explain how we found strength in the community of brothers and sisters (that?s you!) of literally hundreds of people who came together for the cause of our son. You gave us an incredible image of what the Church can be. Thank you.
Zachary now weighs close to 17lbs, is crawling faster than either of us can chase, he pulls up on furniture and is on the verge of standing on his own. He is discovering that he can make mom and dad laugh, and it seems that he is destined to be a big goofball just like his parents.
We love you all and thank you for your continued. Prayers. God?s Peace, Brian, Michelle, and Zachary

Zachary has been on the verge of crawling for several weeks now and as of yesterday he is officially on the move. To quote my brother Mark, ?Let the chase begin!? Poor Millie (our dog) doesn?t quite know what to think yet.
Zachary has continued to grow and is doing remarkably well. At last weigh in he was almost 16lbs! It?s hard to believe, but his one year birthday is coming up. What a great year it has been.

Well, now that January is just about over, I thought it was just about time I sent out an update. Our December and January has been filled with quite a bit of travel, Youth Gatherings, and colds.
We had a wonderful Christmas with Nonnie and Poppie down in North Carolina. Zachary wasn?t particularly interested in opening presents, but he was very interested in trying to put any and every present in his mouth. We then travelled to Gram and Pap?s house for New Year?s (and Christmas part two.) We all ate ourselves silly and had a great time.
Zachary continues to thrive. He is now 15.1 LBs. He is on the verge of crawling, jabbering away, slobbering a lot, smiling and laughing, and having all kinds of fun trying to eat things. We have continued to be blessed by the generosity of friends and family. So, as always we say thank you. Thank you for your ongoing prayers. Please continue to let us know how we might pray for you as well.
God?s Peace, Brian, Michelle, and Zachary

We are excited to report that Zachary was baptized Thanksgiving weekend. It was an incredibly special time for us as our whole family was able to attend. Zachary woke up just in time for the big event and smiled through most of it. I think he thought he was just getting another bath! He now weighs close to 14 pounds (if not more), is eating real food, and has a tooth coming in. He really is a good kid. I say all the time, for the rough start he had, we really could not ask for an easier baby. I have posted a fun little video here.
Michelle is done with work until the beginning of the year when she will start substitute teaching. I am in the middle of finals right now, but am almost done. Only one more semester to go. We hope to have news in the next few months to as to where we will be headed after graduation. Please keep us in your prayers as these are anxious times.
Zachary was also very happy to get a Tampa Bay Bucs outfit from his grandma. The kid?s got good taste! what can we say?
God?s Peace, Brian, Michelle, and Z

Hello everyone. It again has been a long time since we have shared an update, but since now Zachary has passed the six month milestone it seems like a good time. We had a checkup last week and Zachary is now 12LB 4OZ and 24? long. Pretty amazing to see how far he has come. We often say it seems like he is growing daily. Developmentally he is also doing very well. He is rolling over and laughing and seeing things clearly and grabbing on to things and sleeping long hours and all kinds of fun things. He is truly a joy!Michelle and I are also doing well. It has been extremely busy since we have been back in Gettysburg, but the end of school is in sight and we are looking forward to discovering what God has in store in the next phase of life for our little family.
Please continue to let us know how we might pray for you. Thanks for your ongoing love and prayers.
God?s Peace, The Spahrs
