I have been a member of New Psalmist for ten years. My experience here has been marked by tremendous growth in my relationship with Jesus Christ. My journey has been difficult, but fruitful. I have learned through agonizing situations to wait on Him and to listen to His silence as well as His voice.
One of the highlights in my development was in reading the Dreamgiver. The book reminded me that God gave me dreams and gifts which I abandoned many years ago. Reading the book, gave me the courage to confront the places in my spirit where my dreams had died, so that they could be resurrected.
While I was pursuing my dreams, a Christian publisher asked me to submit a book proposal on single and seeking Christians. I am working on that effort. In the meantime, I have a blog called Guarding Your Heart at http://www.guardingyourheart.blogspot.com. I came up with the title for my book, Guard Your Heart, years ago. Both titles come from Proverbs 4:23.
The book and the blog are just two areas in which God will use my gifts to execute on the dreams that He placed in me. I have learned to run toward the challenges I confront in my spirit, rather than away from them. In this way, I have to lean on God, so that I can move with Him to accomplish His will.
This year, God has arranged for me to meet media mogul, Cathy Hughes for interview with a national magazine. He has also opened up other doors for me to be closer to home during the week, so that I am more available to serve Him. It's just so amazing how he is working. This year, I hope to serve God more in the way that He wants me to, to lead others to know His love for us, and to serve my community. I also look forward to meeting you soon.

Not really a surfer, but some of my favorites are Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Big Shots (if it ever returns), almost everything on HGTV, CNN, and Washington This Week with Gwen Ifill.
