About Me

 Hello everyone,

I have to change my profile once in a while. Sometimes when I go back and read it, it does not sound right. Well, here's a little bit of information about me... I grew up in Sherman, Texas. I met my husband, Greg DeWitt, in the Navy and we settled here in California. I was in the Navy for 6 years and I spent 9 months in the Persian Gulf War. I currently work for the Department of Water Resources in Mettler, Ca. Greg and I have two boys- Cameron and Tyler.

I was baptized when I was 9 years old. It was my Grandmother's church. My parents didn't take us to church. So, the only time we really went, was when we visited Grandmother.  I remember when I got baptized... It was done in a lake. I was surrounded by seaweed. A little strange, but a very wonderful and Spiritual experience. I thank God that my Grandmother took the time to take me to Church. I Loved her church, Holly Tree Chapel. She and my Grandfather are buried at the cemetary there. He took both their lives a few years back. It tore me up inside. But I finally got through it.

Anyway, I really do enjoy Valley Bible Fellowship. It's a very down to earth church, and I always feel comfortable there.  Pastor Ron and Pastor Jim are awesome!!!!

T'was The Night Before Christmas Not a Sign of Baby Jesus

T'was the night before Christmas

and all through the town

Not a sign of Baby Jesus

was anywhere to be found.

The people were all busy

with Christmas time chores

Like decorating, and baking,

and shopping in stores.

No one sang "Away in a manger,

no crib for a bed".

Instead, they sang of Santa

dressed-up in bright red.

Mama watched Martha Stewart,

Papa drank beer from a tap.

As hour upon hour

the presents they'd wrap

When what from the TV

did they suddenly hear?

'Cept an ad.. which told

of a big sale at Sears.

So away to the mall

they all flew like a flash

Buying things on credit

and others with cash!

And, as they made their way home

From their trip to the mall,

Did they think about Jesus?

Oh, no... not at all.

Their lives were so busy

with their Christmas time things

No time to remember

Christ Jesus, the King.

There were presents to wrap

and cookies to bake.

How could they stop and remember

who died for their sake?

To pray to the Savior

they had no time to stop.

Because they needed more time

to "Shop til they dropped!"

On Wal-mart! On K-mart!

On Target! On Penney's!

On Hallmark! On Zales!

A quick lunch at Denny's

From the big stores downtown

to the stores at the mall

They would dash away, dash away,

and visit them all!

And up on the roof,

there arose such a clatter

As grandpa hung icicle lights

up on his brand new step ladder.

He hung lights that would flash.

He hung lights that would twirl.

Yet, he never once prayed to Jesus...

Light of the World.

Christ's eyes... how they twinkle!

Christ's Spirit... how merry!

Christ's love... how enormous!

All our burdens... He'll carry!

So instead of being busy,

overworked, and uptight

Let's put Christ back in

Christmas and enjoy

some good nights!

Merry Christmas, my friends!

11:22 And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God. 11:23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 11:25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses." 11:26
