The people we are least aware of are ourselves. At least that is the way it is for most people. I am something of a seeker who has gained a lot of wisdom over the years. The answers I seek are not simple answers that can be handed to me on a silver platter or spoken to me through conversation or read in a book. No, they are much deeper than that. It should be said that I have already found answers to a great many questions, and believe me, no matter how much you know there is always more to learn. However, to those who read this who believe on some level that they have everything to teach and nothing to learn I would have you know, before you start talking at me, that I did not come here for the purpose of finding answers (also if you're not willing to learn then you have nothing to teach and vice versa for the two go hand in hand). I came because a friend invited me. That doesn't mean that I am not interested in deep philosophocal and spiritual conversations though...just so long as they reamain two-way.
A little more about me though, since this is what this section is for. I am a man with a foot in two worlds. On one hand I am a scientist, a biologist. I hold a deep fascination with life and all its facets, and so I chose a profession that specializes in the study of life and how (as opposed to why) it works. Every detail, every mechanism, every process. On the other hand I am a deeply religious person with a knack for exploring WHY things are they way they are. Philosophy, scriptural study, psychology, ect. A deep study and understanding of the mental and social aspects of life. I also have a pet peeve about misconceptions. Call it a personal weakness, but when I see something that I know is incorrect I have a tendency of pointing it out. I don't try to force people to make the right decisions though; been there, done that. It's a fool's errand. As a Christian it is my duty only to force myself to make the right choice, and be humble enough to admit to myself when I'm wrong or when I have something to learn. Other people I can only give the odd prod in the right direction. Whether or not they make the right decision is ultimately up to them. |
