WHO AM I?
I am a Christian. I am a dreamer. I am often manic and bore easily. I am in need of constant activity and stimulation and tend to be overly-zealous and excitable. I am passionate and driven and I crave order and stability. I am musical and artistic and creative. I tend to be an unscrupulously honest person, which sometimes causes conflict but I pride myself in that quality. I am verbose and long-winded – you’ll figure that out by the time I’m done! I am quick to jump in and probably lack what my Dad calls “expectation management” because I believe I can do and be anything. I am ever-evolving, but at the core I am constant. I am a "devils-advocate" sometimes, but only for the sake of lively discussion. In the end I stand firm in what I believe. I am stubborn and hard-headed, but not to the exclusion of exploring new ideas and hearing the other side. I am thick-skinned and controlled but underneath I am a mix of deep emotions. I am fiercely loyal and never do anything I care about less than one-hundred-and-ten percent. I am always searching and perpetually curious. I am never content to sit in one place for too long, because I equate standing still with taking a step backwards.

WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?
My purpose in life is to remain adaptive and willing to change with time and circumstance, but unyielding in my core beliefs about family, God, and community. I aim to continue my own growth, and help others do the same. My purpose is to maintain health, happiness, freedom, and possibility. I will change the world one day at a time, and will never live with regret or “what if I had?” I will be myself unapologetically and without shame. I will go into the world every day with hope and excitement, and when I face adversity I will change what I can and walk through with head held high the things I cannot. I will always choose enlightenment over ignorance, courage over fear, confidence over doubt, mental/emotional/physical/spiritual health over despair or hopelessness, God over this world, personal and interpersonal evolution over stagnancy and complacency, compassion over judgment, and persistence over surrender and resignation. My purpose is to serve God with my life in ALL I do.


WHAT IS GOD'S PURPOSE FOR US ALL?
UNITY: "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17:20-23)
LOVE: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34-35)
SHARE CHRIST WITH OTHERS: "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)

T'was The Night Before Christmas Not a Sign of Baby Jesus

 

T'was the night before Christmas

and all through the town

Not a sign of Baby Jesus

was anywhere to be found.

 

The people were all busy

with Christmas time chores

Like decorating, and baking,

and shopping in stores.

No one sang "Away in a manger,

no crib for a bed".

Instead, they sang of Santa

dressed-up in bright red.

 

Mama watched Martha Stewart,

Papa drank beer from a tap.

As hour upon hour

the presents they'd wrap

When what from the TV

did they suddenly hear?

'Cept an ad.. which told

of a big sale at Sears.

 

So away to the mall

they all flew like a flash

Buying things on credit

and others with cash!

And, as they made their way home

From their trip to the mall,

Did they think about Jesus?

Oh, no... not at all.

 

Their lives were so busy

with their Christmas time things

No time to remember

Christ Jesus, the King.

There were presents to wrap

and cookies to bake.

How could they stop and remember

who died for their sake?

 

To pray to the Savior

they had no time to stop.

Because they needed more time

to "Shop til they dropped!"

On Wal-mart! On K-mart!

On Target! On Penney's!

On Hallmark! On Zales!

A quick lunch at Denny's

 

From the big stores downtown

to the stores at the mall

They would dash away, dash away,

and visit them all!

And up on the roof,

there arose such a clatter

As grandpa hung icicle lights

up on his brand new step ladder.

 

He hung lights that would flash.

He hung lights that would twirl.

Yet, he never once prayed to Jesus...

Light of the World.

 

Christ's eyes... how they twinkle!

Christ's Spirit... how merry!

Christ's love... how enormous!

All our burdens... He'll carry!

 

So instead of being busy,

overworked, and uptight

Let's put Christ back in

Christmas and enjoy

some good nights!

I had a great time too. We definitely have to plan more! I am sure we still have plenty to learn about each other. I mean if i have crazy random sister stories, I am sure there has to be more for you to learn. And share as well! lol Cant wait.
