Rev. Loris Nadene Adams was born and raised in God’s family in both Kingsport, TN and Gate City, VA. An only child for 8 years, she recounts Jesus as her first, and still her closest, friend.
Rev. Adams graduated from Limestone College magna cum laude with a BS in Computer Science in 2002. Within a year, she would forsake that profession to finally answer God’s call to her life, and enter Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary where she earned her MDiv in 2007. She was licensed to preach the gospel in 2004, and fully ordained into the ministry on March 26, 2006. Having met and been counseled toward wholeness by Pastor Freeman while they were peers at LTSS, she joined The MEETING Place family in the summer of 2006.
While in seminary she began to hone her teaching and counseling gifts working as Director of Christian Education and Director of Youth Ministries for churches in Irmo and Columbia, SC. In 2006 she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to complete a one year Clinical Pastoral Education Residency with the Emory Center for Pastoral Services in conjunction with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The intense year of training further solidified her call as wounded healer, and gave her a firm foundation to continue to reach, teach, and counsel God’s people.
She is ever grateful for the continued love and support of her family: Her mother Loretta, a super greeter at The Meeting Place; her littler sister Aishima, a new mommy and member of The MEETING Place, as well as her other two lovely sisters Dannisha and Aja.
In addition, Rev. Adams confesses transformation through the love and support of her MEETING Place family: “No finer men have I ever known, no better women am I to see. I meet my God everyday in marvelous ways through His people at The MEETING Place!”
Rev. Adams now resides in Charlotte, NC with her 13 year old son, Asa.
