Have you been in a place in your life where you were broken, lonely, abandoned, sad, hopeless, distant, and feeling like nothing you are doing is amounting to anything? Have you been an outcast, ridiculed, treated like you were less then everyone else around you, just longing for someone to just love you, only to be treated horribly by the ones who should care about you the most, maybe even some Christians you know people claiming to love Jesus but do not truly know what that means. maybe they are scared to try to reach you, maybe they just don't care, maybe the are covering up the fact that they are hopelessly dirty and filthy on the inside as well.
I want to tell you a story about a woman, who was thirsty, who was searching in all the wrong places, who was so low that she did not care who the love and attention came from she was just so desperate for it. How desperate was she, she was desperate enough that she went to church every week, despite the looks that she had gazing at her, despite the people that were talking about her, and on the outside she is trying to be strong pretending as if she does not care what they are saying or worse what they are not, maybe what they were thinking was far worse. That did not stop her, she was so thirsty and hungry for love that she put herself through that agony week after week, but never finding the love she was looking for. she started searching in men several men, she had been married and divorced several time and scripture says the man she is with now is not her husband. but it also describe someone in such great need of love that she is going in all the wrong places looking for it. and the people that are around her that should be helping, and reaching out to her are only pushing her further and further away. it is morning and all the women are going to the well for water, they are going to socialize and catch on all the latest girl stuff and she waits, she waits at home watching, wishing, longing for that kind of acceptance that she could maybe, just maybe be apart of something like that. it is getting hot outside and the women are starting to leave, she sees them leaving and decides now is the time for me to go, there will not be anyone else there, yes it will be hot and hard but this is the time i must go. She passes them on the streets, they stare and glance, some spit and yell at her, calling her names that cut so deep, but she goes on pushing forward still searching. She is at the well now, it is after noon and so hot, she is drawing water when this man, not just any man but a Jew approaches and asks for water, she is so shocked that anyone especially and Jewish man would ask for her anything. She is drawn to Him, there is something different in His voice, there is something different about the way He is looking at her, it something like she has never before felt. she asked him why would you ask me for water your a Jew and i am a Samaritan, He said lady if you knew the gift from God, and who it is that is asking you for water you would say give me drink and He would have given you "Living Water". she is still curious as to why he is talking to her and she says sir how can you draw water, the well is deep and you have no bucket from where will you get this living water, are thee grater then thy father Jacob, who gave us this well and drank from it himself.
Jesus replied and said who ever drinks from this well will still be thirsty and have to drink again, but who ever drinks of the water i am offering will never thirst again, and will have a well springing up for everlasting life.
the women said sir, give me this water that i may never thirst again and that i may not ever have to come back and draw from this well again.
Jesus told her to go and call her husband and bring him here, she replied and said i have no husband, Jesus replied and said you have answered right you have no husband in fact you have five husbands and the one you are with now is not yours.
the woman was shocked and thought him to be a profit, and told Him she knows of a Messiah coming, a Christ, that is coming that will tell them all things.
Jesus answers her and says He is I !!!!
she ran out back to town completely changed she know longer cared what the people thought, she was at a point in her life where she was broken, hopeless, and searching, she went to the well for water, hoping she might one day find love, she was completely changed that day. She came thirsty and left overflowing with springs of eternal life. she did that because Christ came and met her where she was, in her darkness and in her sadness and in her brokenness, and he loved her like she had so been longing for. her life was for ever changed that day, because she met Jesus!!!
I am so happy that Jesus loves me so much that he met me when i was broken, that he did not care about how filthy i was, or how broken, he loved me, and corrected me and told me i was wrong, but he LOVED me, oh how he loved me and now He is my Song!
when you meet Jesus at that place in your life when your are broken, you are changed and you cant help but let that water flow out in springs of abundance. the woman at the well when running into town to tell the people about his love and about the one who saved her, the one who met her at that place where she was so desperately searching, and the people knew that she was truly changed that she was different, the people went to Jesus and wanted to know more about this Messiah, but not because of anything the women had done, but she simply believed and let the "Living Water" flow through her.
it is my prayer that i can allow that "Living Water" to flow from me in the same way, that i would simply be obedient to my Lord and serve Him by allowing Him to simply work though me. How can I sit quietly and tell no one and do nothing when i am overflowing with His love and mercy and kindness.
I simply can not and I have to go, go and serve, go and love, go and tell, the key point to this is story is she did not come to Jesus, He came to her, and God is putting such a strong passion on my heart to just go, go, go, go out and meet the needs go out and meet the people where they are.
Yes, Lord, yes Lord , Yes yes Lord Amen!! I will serve you I will go I will be obedient to your call.
sometimes just saying yes seems so hard, but it should not, we should just simply go. i have a story about that as well and a passion burning inside to tell, but it is now 4:0O am and you may not be able to handle any more tonight.
they say i have a tendency to talk alot, i guess they were right. oh well, my heart feels so much better now that i have share what God was placing so heavy on it.
i pray that this may be as revealing to you as it was to me i am praying for you all and here if ya need any thing
love Kristy
